RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly
The Yak is a true 88" with wings inserted and a true 1450 sq in. 17 lbs
The Extra is a true 88.5" and 1450 sq in. and 17 lbs. The Extra looks almost identical in lines to the E-Extra... with airfoiled tailgroup of course. Compared to the original 87" Yak... spinner tip to spinner tip... the Extra is nearly half a rudder longer...
It appears that it is nearly identical in components weights to the orig 87" yak, with the exception of the fuse being about 3-4 os heavier... but all in all the Extra is a BIGGER plane considerably in presence and actual size.
Ummm... save up to dough boys...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly
I know more than a few guys who are currently flying the 300e at our field will no doubt "supersize" and get into a DA-50 version. Simply because the 300e made them fall in love . I am sure there will be more than a few of the 88.5 300's at our field this next season.
Guys who would have never gone gas will make the move. I am already setting up a gas setup night for our upcoming February meetings.
So, carbon pipe , tunneled in, is that the plan?? Servos in stab?? I'd bet on it. My 300E is gonna get a lot more flight time in anticipation of this one.

Pricing has yet to be announced... but I wouldn't think it far off from previous offerings... but that's only a guess... I'm sure that'll be finalized pretty soon along with the "formal" annoucenement info...

THere will never be an end to the era of this plane. The 68" is like a cult. So is this one. More than afew still exist in boxes, same as 68's.
This one wil be at "vintage" meets decades from now. Count on it.

Yep, $649 + shipping. I've already got my payment in place ready to get the yellow and black. I'm not selling this one for anything...

Hey Rodney, glad it's still going. The bad thing is - the other DA-50 that I got at the same time - I've never ran it at all. It's still NIB just back from DA for the updates. Talk about a long time to get something going!

Sure, I was in Chattanooga several times over the last few years and haven't had a chance to do any flying. The last time I was there I was escorting about 50 teens / parents to a conference for 2 days. AGHHHHHH!

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly
Guys, I just got my hands on one of the 87" Yaks.
I need to know if or where I can get parts for it.
I need one phenolic control horn, one wing bolt, the carbon fiber peices for the front of the canopy to lock it into the firewall and the little cover for the rear of the fuselage.
I know that I could probably try Ultra RC but I just dont want to go there if I can help it.
Any other tips or trick that you would like to share about this plane would be great also.
As soon as I get all of the dirt dobbers knocked out of this thing, I should be able to get it finished up.
Thanks for any help,
Clarke
