new to red cat racing just wanted to say this place is awesome i just ordered 2 of the new tornado shockwave buggys they said the clutch spring ,shoes and bell housing are a new design and the bell housing is steel now no need to replace out of the box like the old ones with the aluminum housing hope it holds up great

I have one the new parts work well but the throttle lever gets hung on the motor different than my xp the servo is in a different spot causing it to get hung on the motor.Anyone else having that problem I can bump the brake and it returns to a idle not really a problem just don't like the placement of the servo on this model everything esle works good even the radio works.

i wont get them till monday but as far as i know the biggest upgrade is the steel bell housing and the new stiffer black spring new color shemes ,5 star wheels not the solid dish ,if you go to redcats site click on the $99 deal on the right of the page where it says cart you can mouse over the name and it will show yout the new pic or even if you go to the parts section and go to the gallery there is like 6 pictures of it it purple and yellow the only difference between the pics and what youll get is the pic shows solid wheels and the sales rep said they come with the 5 star rims like the xp plus all the xp parts will still fit so far this is all i know will put my own pics up when i get them

i have a new shockwave and a tornado xp. i've had them about 2 weeks. the xp threw the clutch spring after 2 tanks of fuel, i just bent the end up and put it back on, workin OK. i also noticed the clutch was getting out of round, no problem new one ordered! the car wasn't shifting either, but a little adjusting took care of that. 2 speeds is extra cool!!!!!! No problems with the shockwave. i dont like the way the starter rope is almost touching the throttle linkage, i guess it's OK it just bothers me.
we also have an xtm xt2, which is killer. but i think the redcats are just as fast as the xtm.
be sure to have a couple lower front arms and pins ready for when (not if) you hit a curb.
i have 2 sons 9 (xp) and 11 (xtm) and i have the shockwave. i think the cheapest car may be the fastest!!!

if the servo sticking bothers you then replace your upper deck with part # 02050 and 02069. 02050 is the battery box and 02069 is the upper plate. This will make it like the Xp.
