Yeah, but I would very much recommend going to a higher grade filter like the Motor Saver or OFNA or a 1/8 buggy scale filter. Its a small price to pay to protect your engine

when breaking in your engine, do you follow the manual? or the heat cycle procedure?

If it runs fine and holds a tune, I wouldn't worry about it. My OS .12 leaks really good on the slider boot and hasn't had any I'll effects form it.
The only thing i have noticed is after a few tanks of run time it will run like its very rich. After i lean it about 1/8 turn it will come back to life and i have to richen it again. Its not the filter or glow plug cause i had just changed them both. But thats the only problem i have had with my TM. Other than that its a great motor with lots of power. I went running yesterday (Sunday) in some sandy soil and i was still fighting wheelies!! Anyway thanks for the advice!!

No, stay away from that paper filter crap. Get the regular foam type that uses air filter oil.

Thats what I use, and it works well though some people are on a crusade saying they are motor "killers" for whatever reasons. Be sure to get the prefilter as well for it, it helps cut down the cleaning times.

For break in mine seemed to be way too lean. I turned the HSN a full turn out. I let it idle for two tanks on that setting then turned The HSN a half turn in and finished break in from there. She runs perfect Did anyone else think stock HSN needle was to lean?

how hard of a time did u guys have getting ur .18TM started? mine was reallllly bad. i had to send it back. it was so tight that the OWB was spinning on the starter shaft and not moving the piston. i had a hot bodies jump start and i heated it up with a hair dryer and loosened the plug. im using a LC3 plug with 20% sidewinder. I hope they will give me a new .18 TM and im going to start completly from scratch. im going to use the ez start to break it in. seems like the jump start (roto start) is too hard on the piston like forcing it up and down to start which is why the OWB keeps getting effed up. How hard was it to first get your O.S. running?

My .18tm is ok when starting with the ez start.I know a new plug would fix it.I cant even fully rotate the flywheel with my fingers with the glowplug out.But it still works fine.Broke the drive shaft so I know it has some power.I need a new pipe tho because something is in the stock one and keeps clogging the exhaust outlet. What full exhaust systems are you guys using with your .18tm on the t-maxx?I wanted to get the dynamyte one but it screws in and this engine has the spring.I am guessing because of that it wont work?Or would it just be ok to get a pipe only?Hope you guys have fun bashing
