What % Nitro/Oil To Use For Break-in & Bashing?
I just ordered a tsunami Truggy.. It has the VX 18. I need to go out and get some fuel before it gets here.. I have a few questions.. I know you want low nitro and high oil for break-in I think..Is that true.. What should I use.. how about for bashing arround the backyard.. I would like a good ammout of power but I am not to good at tuning yet, So I know not to use fuel with real high nitro content. What abou brand?.. Will any work?.. Im not looking to spend alot of money.. Its just for weekend bashing..
Thanks
Thanks

20 percent is good forevery thing. If your not using a race motor or racing just about any fuel will work for the redcat motors.

RE: What % Nitro/Oil To Use For Break-in & Bashing?
ok.. Made some calls to see what I can get. here is what I got:
HobbyTown: 20% Nitro / 10% Oil - $23/Gal - Eliminator ProRace
OR
SomeOtherPlace: 20% Nitro / 14% Oil - $25/Gal - Wildcat
20% Nitro / 18% Oil - $26/Gal - Wildcat
no sure what way to go.. The person I talked to say he will not sell anything less than 14% oil.. I really dont know what oil % to run?
also, on a diffrent note.. When Im there I need to buy Glow Plugs (since I will fry a few on breakin I assume), what ones should I get?
And I need a fuel filter - Anything specific to look for in a filter?.. Thanks
Sorry for all the question, I have been out of the sport for YEARS..

Im using Byrons RTR Blend for my first galon on my SH 28.
20% Nitro/16% oil
Ran it super rich for 10 tanks slowly leaning it out as more fuel has been run through it. Im at about half a gallon now through this SH, and she is still burnin on the oem glow plug that came with it.

Go for the 20/14 nitro mate. Some people like to use run-in blends buts its really not that necessary. I'd just use it from the start.
In regards to fuel fumes I find most nitro irritates your nose or thoat if you get a big breathe of it. The ones that dont I think have an additive in it that reduces the irritation.

look you can go as much oil as say 18% but I wouldn;t recommend it purely because engines run better with less oil. less bogging, better idling and in a lot cases better cooling would you beleive. So the 20/14 would be the one to go for.
As far as glow plugs I'd probably try and an OS#8(medium) or the A3(hot). A hotter plug will allow you to run a bit richer as well. If you dont get results with one then try the other one I reckon.
