RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
Did a mock up of my exhaust today looks like it should work its just tacked together so i can adust as needed .There will be a header on the engine with 2 pipes going into the pipes .There will be a section of the connection tubes cut out and replaced with blue silicone exhuast tubing to give it the flex needed .Got to rmove a little more wood and find some paint that will protect the wood from the heat .I think bvm sells the paint i will have to see

Zeeb,
I thought the whole idea for the iso. mount was to help on the vibration end,as you know these gas engines do tend to vibrate , so if the guys in IMAC are not using iso . mounts then what are they using to eliminate the vibration?

Take a look at this thread for some thoughts about it;
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5905006/tm.htm
Here's a pic of the ZDZ-100 in my Edge, it's pretty typical of what you see in the IMAC stuff now. The aluminum pieces are baffling which contacts the inside of the cowl on top just behind the bugeyes. Then there is also a piece mounted inside the cowl on the bottom of the bugeyes that runs right up to the cylinders.

Gibbs,
If my Meister doesn't get here pretty soon I'll get my money back and build one with you. I bought it from a guy who use to be a rep for Meister but isn't anymore. Sometimes you get what you pay for, I know, I know but sometimes you just want to help out a guy especially when he's local. I'm not really in any hurry but that cowl looks impressive and I'm about ready to go back to building.

David,
Beware of that kit if it isn't comming directly from Meister. You must not of seen the WARNING Dino's Company put on this forum about people that are selling kits under the Meister name that aren't real Meister kits. Look for his Thread and read what is going on. If you end up with one Dino won't supply you with any parts or accessories and definitely won't back up a product thats not his own. You need to have this guy your getting it from fax or e-mail you his original invoice from Meister. If he declines he is probably selling you a knock off which are junk to say the least. BEWARE OF DEALS THAT ARE TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!

Yes Bob and George, have been working on other stuff mostly throughout the school year. Summer brings progress for me, so will try to keep y'all updated on finishing 'er off and flying results when it comes time for that.
Have to repaint on the front gal part as the dry transfer I got for it is slightly larger than the white background, and it doesn't need a white background after testing the spare on a painted test piece, so will just spray over the white with color. The quality of that dry transfer gal from Gary at GetStencils is top notch...so it's worth the respray. Still have a couple stars and bars to do, the hatch covers, kill markings, and some pieces to paint, but getting close. Putting her on her feet in color the first time got me stoked a little to fire up the Sachs in there, so gotta at least get the fuse done and clearcoated for that. The guys at Tru-turn set me up with a new prop hub to match the six bolt hub on the Sachs--a key find at Toledo. So, got an extra one for a G62 if anyone needs one.

Expanding,
I have taken a couple days off from my build in order to get ready for the 1/4 scale Corsair. I built another bench out in the laundry room where my cutting table is. I should have enough room now. When I'm not using it to build on it will hold a scroll saw and band saw I have been wanting and will get for fine cutting and for cutting planking. I am going to put a shelf above it to hold all of my building supplies which I will duplicate from my older part of the shop.
