RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.
I have tried readjusting the high speed valve but that did not work. It does seem kind of hard to pull so I have taken the glow plug out and pulled the starter a few times trying to get the extra fuel out and then I put the plug back in bust it still seems to be the same. One thing I have noticed is when I prime it and then take the glow plug out I really don't see any fuel in the chamber, what should I see in this case? The glow plug is red hot, I am using an O.S. #8, is this okat? So far all of the suggestions that have been made I have tried that is why I am so lost.

It's not always possible to get extra fuel out by just pulling on the starter. If it seems harder than normal to pull, remove the plug, pinch off the fuel line, hold the boat sideways (header down), and pull the starter a few times. This will allow the fuel to drain into the exhaust. Then hold the boat bow up to allow the extra fuel to drain out of the pipe. Reinstall the plug, unpinch the fuel line, and try starting it again.
Edit: OS #8 is fine for lower nitro fuel (<30% or so).

My fuel tank does not seal very well and leaks fuel from the cap could this be part of the problem becuase the tank can not be pressurized by the exhaust?

If there is sufficient fuel, a hot glow, and decent compression than the engine will start. There's no tricks here.
Exhaust pressure or not, the engine should still start after priming it.
Do you visually see a nice bright orange glow from the plug when it's out? Have you replaced the plug just to confirm it can not be the plug? Does the engine fire at all when turning it over?

After breaking a couple of pull starters(no I don't pull them out to the end) I am wanting to put a belt in my SV. If I want to eliminate the ps completely I guess I would need a cover of some sort for the shaft the ps grabs? Can I remove the ps end plate and the ps shaft and put a regular end plate on or will that not work because of the extra length on the end of the crankshaft? If this is already covered in this thread I apologize, but I didn't see it.

Hey guys. I am looking to buy a SV27 nitro, but can't find one in stock. I found one on ebay, but I dont really want a white boat. Any ideas on where to get one that I can have at my door by the 18th??

ads, that might be part of the problem. The caps need to be snug but you don't want to tighten them down too much. Try a pop bottle cap in place of the stock cap.
fast9, you could leave everything in place then put a belt on it, this way you wouldn't have to hassle with trying to convert things over.

Why not just by the white one then paint it the color you want? If its used and from ebay, hopefully you get a good deal so the extra for the paint won't put you over.

I can't get my SV27 started, either. Everything appears
to be fine except for the P.O.S. gas tank/cap. I have air,
fuel, and 'spark' but no ignition...
Before I spend more time trying to start the engine,
I was hoping someone could answer a question:
Looking into the exhaust pipe at the rear of the SV27,
does the pipe appear to have a solid aluminum 'wall'
in the middle of it?

try starting it at about 2 turns out instead of 2 and a half, this motor doesnt like to try to start eating all that fuel....once it starts for the first time, turn it to 2 and a half and it starts almost every time after 2 or 3 pulls............
also make sure you are priming the engine

RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.
Okay guys. I have made my choice. I am going to buy a SV 27 nitro, and I would like to know a good fuel to run on. I run traxxas 20% in my T-Maxx and wouild really like to stick with it, but I don't know if it has sufficient lubrication and nitro %. I have read that you use 30-65% nitro in boats. Is that true? Should I use something like O'Donnell boat fuel, or is Traxxas okay? What are the performance benifits/sacrifices of running either fuel? My LHS has traxxas gallons in stock, but I would have to order O'Donnel quarts, which would cost me an extra $10 a gallon. What are your opinions?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'd advise you to look away from Traxxas fuels altogether, that includes your T-Maxx. If a company does not specify Oil content, I do not use their fuel.
If you are just sport running, go with 25% nitro. Oil content must be equal to or greater than 18%.

Anyone know what's up with the SV27 being out of stock everywhere? Most sites are saying late August / early September. Is there a new version coming out? Incidentally, anyone know where to get one (except ebay)?

RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.
Well i finally got my new SV out to the old lake this weekend. The darn thing would not start for anything!!! i have never had a problem with a glow engine. So after a little frustration i pulled out the trash glow plug they put in there and put one of my OS ones in there and the bad boy fired right up. I put a few tanks through her and had to pack up.
Cant wait to get out there and lean her out and see what it can do!!!

Really nice hardware on this boat. I checked it out at LHO and was taken by it. Decided on a cat hull instead, but this was definitely a runner!

boats should be in with in the next 3 weeks , going to have to lay by it till november or xmas , got me self a tamiya frog to take me back to my youth which will keep me occupied for a while aswell as pulling my x1-crt pro out for a bit of running , may also paint the aquajet for something to do , i do really want the supervee but can't run it till end of the year when i go on hols so no need to get it till then , aswell will give me time to see if any more issues arise with the boat ????
how is everyones boat holding up ?

RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.
Well guys, I will soon be joining the club! My SuperVee 27 Nitro should be here Friday, thanks to Piper_Chuck! I already purchased 2 gallons of O'Donell 30% car fuel and some klotz techniplate oil additive, so when it gets here, I can start breaking it in, which brings me to my question; How should I break it in? should I bench run it or put it in the water and let it go? this is my first "real" rc boat, so forgive me if I do not know all of the terms yet!
Edit: Also, what kind of starter (other than belt) can I use on it? i am not a fan of PS.
