well one is a truggy, the other is a monster truck. What fits your preference... is best for you.
If you like bangin around in the yard, get the avalanche.

Those 2 will eventually pan out to be good trucks I think judging from the past record of the imports from Redcat but if you want to step up get a Savage X SS kit and put it together with your radio and you won't be sorry. Everyone I know was extremely happy.[:-]

if they are anything like the hurricane, i would suggest getting them. I am thinking of gettting the avalanche or monsoon, Clermont is getting a few monsoon's in and he is taking one out for a test drive, i am sure he will post his findings here.

truggys are really good, you get the best of both worlds, truck and buggy, they handle great, jump great and fast and stable. i have the ofna mutilator and love it, i would like to try the monsoon out though. they just need to get rid of that yellow/green wing and make it white.

oh I will. I didn't explain. sorry but they are the things I will have to do to make it compete. The servo might make a few laps lol.. just kidding. I will run it stock with stock radio first. Then do the mods. I am going to then work it up and go out to AZ and challenge Nick

Take advantage of aftermarket wheels. If you can get offset wheels for it, by all means DO IT. If you plan to race, wider is definitely better. Pick up a set of MTR tires too, bowties are a very common selection.
