Guys, things are coming to life and will be good very soon. Danny is doing a bang up job to take care of all of you to ensure your 2.4 experience is a great one, I promise you that. I work next to him every day.
For those who have pre-paid for the system, I know this isn't a Horizon Hobby policy and we have not charged anyone for any product they have yet to receive. If there are hobby shops taking payment that is something to work out with them.
I love the thoughts of batteries, not sure where that came from.

John Redman,
I made the quote about the batteries and I cannot believe these guys took the hook. Everyone is so serious about this radio thing. I cannot help to laugh and put in a comment of my own. I am sure that Danny is a tremendous asset to Horizon Hobby. Please don't take offense to my comment and ask him not to take these guys so seriously (personally). They'll continue to buy Horizon and JR stuff because you guys are the best at customer service and the products just work. Lest I forget they are competitively priced with the competition.
Everyone else,
GO FLY this weekend and actually try to enjoy yourself. This is a hobby. If you were Quique Somenzini or Mike McConville then you might have a reason to gripe, but then again they always put fun before seriousness with this hobby. That is how they got to be so good at flying. You don't see them griping about a silly radio.
Live it up !!!

My two-cents on the subject. I am waiting on this 9 chl 2.4 GHZ for my new QQ Yak 54, 86". This radio is going to dedicated to these larger planes. My 8 chl JR TX and rx's are working fine in other planes.
Called my LHS today, he does not know anything. The only news I get, is on here. Another month is fine.

On a call to Horizon support this morning, the technician said that there is no DSC function in this new transmiter.

There isn't as there isn't any need for it. You don't have to worry about turning on and transmitting to check the set up of the aircraft. There just isn't any need for that function.

Okay, no need for the DSC function on the tx, never used the one I have on my Futaba anyway....
I got my extra Spektrum satellite rx's today which I plan to use with my R921's and the Flight Log, so I'm curious about the data port of the R921, is there one? The instructions on the Flight Log which is of course a Spektrum part as well to be used on the AR9000, say to plug into the data port on the rx before turning off the tx or rx, or it can be mounted.
Is the Flight Log functional with the R921's?
Oh Danny, thanks for putting up with all us guys pestering you about these new radios! You do a great job with this support forum...

Duh !
Stupid of me ( I know! ), the set itself (X9303) will still output the relevant data but the receiver no longer has that 3rd pin on the supply used as the Monitor out/DSC in ....

To use the transfer function you will need a trainer cord.
The R921 can use 2 remote receivers the same as the AR9000 from Spektrum. Yes, you can use the Spektrum flight log w/ the R921.

A trainer cord has the plug to go into the back of the TX on both ends, a DSC cord has that plug on one end and a female 'servo' end on the other to connect to a switch. They are different.

Here is a question Danny
I have got 3 AR7000 RX's sitting here for when my X9303 arrives. I noticed that none of them arrived with the binding plug included.
Why is that?

ARRRGH...
I got the shipping e-mail from Horizon earlier today, responded to it, and now have a charge on my credit card.... the transmitter is on the way!
BUT....
I have an early flight tomorrow morning to Florida for the rest of the week, next week is a "guys week out" golf trip, the following week I have more meetings in Florida, then the following week we're going to Hawaii for our 20th anniversary.... It will be at least 4 weeks before I have time to get the radio set up on my planes and get it in the air!! Maybe the extra receivers I ordered will be shipped by then.
Anyway, Thanks Danny, for putting up with all the speculation and questions over the past few months... new products are always a nightmare, and with as much interest as 2.4GHz has generated, the headaches for you must have been enormous. This reminds me of the old days in mobile computing when we rolled out integrated 2.4GHz technology in laptops..... a great product in the long run, but a real BEAR to manage in the early stages... Good Luck!
