I've read on multiple posts about the ESC failing. What did you do that got you back on track?

I guess we can always expect something like this from RR, Kemo my esc went up in smoke, i had ordered one extra esc for another project, and i just swapped the new one in for the toasted one, i had my remote with steering on reverse and the throttle on normal, and the esc was all screwy, i tried to program it as i have done with novak, mamba, quark, duratrax, even tried the moped sequence and nothing, then i noticed the reverse postion on the steering and it worked fine, so i threw the throttle servo switch into reverse mode and it worked[X(], leave it to RR to have their rc cars work with reversed postion on the servo

It's not really about the quality, as we know we aren't getting state of the art stuff, but still if your name is the product you should address these quality issues, or at least come up front and warn the consumer, prolonged used of over 5 minutes with this model esc will result in magic smoke

Got lucky? don't know what to say, but i was telling the guy on support from RR that it went up in smoke literally after only 10 min of driving, bone stock no mods or anything, and he starts giving me the run around, and treating me like a kid trying to get away with a freebie, i only asked were did RR stand on warranty on the esc, if any, still haven't herad a thing from them

Hold on a sec, who spoke with you for support? Normally they treat you right, but I dont know who does the customer support anymore.

Oh and thanks for both providing pics! The sticker on the battery packs on their website must be bloopers then heh

Kemo, the guy i think was Cameron? not 100% sure, this is the first time i have an ackward moment with support, but i really didn't like being treated like a kid, specially after i had told him i was a dealer. I have a thread going on about this, feel free to chime in

if i manage to say anything, the post is going to be removed.

So here is my view on what and why they respond the way they do:

There IS a possibility that they do not have any electronics technicians to diagnose what the problems and failures are and how they have been happening.

If it says NI-Cd, then what? If it is Ni-Mh, I want what I paid for!
