I just bought this plane. I'm still deciding what motor to put in it. I have a Hacker A20-22L and it's the exact same size and weight as the brushless motor that come with the plane. I don't think either motor has enough power to make this bipe preform like it should. I'm thinking of either putting an Eflite 480 in it or a motor I have from Mile High RC. Haven't decided yet.

I was also building the Great Planes Ultimate EP when I bought the Worlds Models Ultimate. They are both suppose to come out around 30 oz. There are some noticeable differents it the two planes as you can see below. The WM's bipe has a longer fuse but is also alot skinner then the GP bipe. The WM wings are longer and a little wider. I'd like to get them both finished at the same time and compare performances.

I am concerned about the motor. I have not been into electrics very long, but I was thinking the 480 would match up pretty good on this plane. I like the looks of the motor from mile high. Have you used one of theirs before? I have about decided to go ahead and try the plane with the supplied motor and see what it does... It would be interesting to see what you think about the two you have when you get them flyin. Keep us posted.

I also have both planes and will have the world models flying soon. It went together very nice, the covering is better quality then the G.P. but if they only would have spent just a little time sanding before covering... So far I'm happy with the plane... The park 480 fits fine with just enlarging the shaft hole and the bolt pattern is correct... I weighed all the remaining parts, some still in the plastic and with a Evo Lite 2100 lipo AUW is 29 oz unless I missed something... Hope to fly it later this week.... Larry

Hay hi have this plane 480 out runner 12/6 prop and forty amp SC and HS 65 all around great looking plane fly’s nice take offs and landing are a breeze don’t expect much with the recommended throws I set my duel rates after my madden flight and all was good, setting up the plane I ditched the clevis and push rods for the ailerons and had no problems after that.

Hamman, do you still have your WM Ultimate? I just got one of these and have flown it a couple times. First flight was on a windy day and did not go well. I got it back on the ground safely, but it was close to a mishap. The second flight was on a calm day and went better. I am using the stock motor and wanted to know if the 480 was a good upgrade. Did you make any other modifications? How did it compare to your other bipe?

Gents,

Any updates on the flying the Ultimate EP? I had a misshap (wrong a/c selected in my radio) and had to buy a new airframe. My new plane is flying better than the first. I took more time putting it together to ensure everything was lined up correctly. Has anyone found a motor that fits without a bunch of modifications? I used the stock motor and it seems underpowered. Over all though, it performs well in light to no wind conditions.

Cheers

She is a good sport flying airplane with a Common Sense RC motor upgrade. I am not a 3D pilot, so I could not tell you how well she can 3D. I find it is very stable and handles very well with the E5-L-13 I put in it. Set up is tricky. It would take an experienced RC pilot to get it to 3D. The gear is weak too. Other than the stock motor and gear, everything else is rock solid. I just purchased some carbon fiber gear, I will let you know how that works out. All in all, stable, fast and responsive with my set up. Oh, and using a 10x6E prop with a 30 amp esc. What would you need to know for 3D?

I bought one these planes, used and disassembled. And, I didn't realize they came with wing incidence templates. I can set the incidences with my gauges, and flat board instead. But, I kinda need to know what they are supposed to be. I found the user/build manual. But, they don't specify, rather they refer to templates I don't have.

Can anyone tell me what the wing incidences are relative the the rear stab?

Thanks!
