Pop Up Adds
Is anyone else starting to get a lot of pop up adds on RCU. The last 3 days I can't hardly view the posts because the pop ups come up so often. Don't think its my computer because it is only on this site. Dan

Just go the lower right hand corner of your screen on rcu and hit the pop up browser it will then say enable pop up screen or something like that it will then say Blocking Pop- ups

The popups are not coming from RCU. I am not computer savvy enough to tell you all of the possible sources for popups that appear while you are visiting RCU, but I have found that sometimes after visiting a site that has popups they will continue to appear after I move on to another site.

Use Ad-Aware software http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ it removes all the hidden pop up things embedded in a computer like registry keys etc.. plus it's free
try it so you can enjoy RCU with out pop up's

I'll have to second the vote for ad-aware. It cleaned off around 120 files from my computer that I had no idea were there, mostly spyware and tracking cookies. It's not R/C related, but it's good stuff. I have had no hangups or slow browsing since I installed it.

I use the "Avant Browser" which has a built in pop-up blocker. Works great and is free. http://www.avantbrowser.com/

pop ups
Thanks for the help guys. I just did a system restore to early last week and I think that has taken care of it. If I find that it didn't I will try some of the remedies that you listed. Thanks again. Dan

I am a computer tech by trade, and every computer that has been through my door in the last 3 years or so, has as little as 2, but as many as 2000 instances of spyware in one form or the other. Get Ad-Aware, as mentioned above.
