Default Can Carbon props be repaired?

I have a 3 blade mezjik that had a tip over today because of a hole in runway. Was hard the engine was at idle.
About a inch from the tip of one blade it looks like there was asome stress from it hitting the ground. The carbon itself doesnt look cracked, but now it looks like theres an airbubble from the resign cracking.

I was told that I could send it back and they could just sand it down and reapply resign to the spot. Its only the size of a pea, is this true or am I out of a 130.00 prop?
If so who would I send it to and does anyone have the contact info?

replace it. A carbon prop can have damage that you cannot see on the inside and can blow apart rather quickly

I'd wait for others to chime in but we actually just had this conversation a week or so ago and the general idea was not to risk it

I woudn't. I glue small APC props when they get cracks but I don't do anything big.

No, you cant see some of the stress fractures that may or may not be in the prop, just replace it not worth the risk...

Full scale props get rebuilt. You just have to find a place that can do the repairs and do RPM tests for integrity.

the best way to repair a carbon prop is to File it in the round trash can,it just is not safe any more. My $.02.

Looks like this one went the way it should. BTW, full scale props and rotor blades have a Time Before Overhaul (TBO), which is the maximum number of hours they can be used, and the overhaul is a full replacement, not a reconditioning. The old ones are destroyed. Full scale metal props are generally repaired if possible.

If you use a carbon prop that's been through a strike you're risking everything (life, limb, property for you and others) for the price of the prop.

For carbon props that delaminate at the times, I apply thin CA and then clamp for a day or two.
It is usually dried and doesn't cause any problems.

I don't care what the prop is made of, if it is damaged in any way shape or form, SCRAP IT. you just never know if there is hidden damage that you cannot see, just imagine a prop blade coming off the hub at 6500 RPM...can you say Bullet?

In another thread in the beginner forum, about propeller safety a reference was made to this article that will give food for thought: http://www.lcrc.org/stu22.htm

Even though the mass of a small piece of CF that is released may be minuscule the force of impact may kill you... One can not take that risk.

[I have seen test stands in test cells destroyed by flying debris]
