Poly-Urethane.Lots of Different Brands (Gorrilla Glue for 1 brand) Won`t melt the foam,and Realy Realy Strong..Just need a thin Film and the Parts Clamped Really Good..It sort of Foams..Do a Search, lots of info about this type of glue, on the Net..

with the blue foam i think you'll need epoxy resin- polyester resin melts the foam
or you can spray tack some aluminium cooking foil all over(matt side outwards ) and then glass over that to stop it melting

..I mentioned Gorilla Glue, because you asked what to use to glue two sheets of foam together.Elmers Ultimate Glue is really excellent too.I`ve glued aluminum to aluminum with it. It`s very Cost effective..Epoxies can get pretty expensive..I really like the Z-poxy products..

..What you can do, if you want to use a Polyester resin, is, Sheet over your Foam, with 1/32 " Balsa.and then you can go to polyesters.Just make sure it doesn`t contact foam, or you can watch a disappearing act..LOL.To glue the Balsa Skins to the Foam use one of the polyurethane adhesives..That`s how, I skin Foam Wing cores..Wrap the Skin to foam with masking tape wound tight to hold/Clamp the Skins while the Polyurethane Dries/cures

Why not use 3/8" ply with grain going crosswise and add strakes on bottom side and blended into the bottom for control and fiberglass the whole unit. You won't be able to do donuts but control you will have control.

I would use the gorilla type glues, if you drill a bunch of hole ( about a quarter to half inch deep) in the two pieces to be joined(where they will be glued) this gives the glue more surface area to adhear too, and it give the glue somewhere to expand. apply the glue to only one of the pieces and spray the other with water and clamp-em for a couple of hours. for you finish coat use epoxy, not polyester
resin or you will end up with a big blob of goo.

I was all set to make one of these foam jobs and started thinking of all the dust and having a vaccuum running while sanding to get a nice smooth finish. I didn't mind the work, but cleanup of ceiling joints and heating pipes and tools and the like put a damper on that. I have a hot wire to cut foam, so built a 9 3/4" wide and 19" wood and foam airboat and used a 05-540 which is a p-94-12/3 and a 7 x 6 pusher prop and fun. The combo of 05 and that size of airboat and 6 cells is FUN. Noise here is kind of taboo, so electric is it. When spring rolls around, i have a bunch of 05's with 11/3 and 10/3 and see what happens. Rock and Roll! LOL!

over here we have an insulation maretial called cellotex- its a white/yellow coloured foam with a silver foil on both sides
the foam is polyurethane so its pretty much everything proof[&:]- you can happily use normal resin on it- even cellulose thinners wont melt it
you can get it up to about 4" thick- so you wouldnt need to glue it but i dont know if you have that over where you are?

yep , we have it over here , as a matter of fact , there is a plant that MAKES the stuff over in the Quad Cities and this can be found at ALL Menards .
I made a posting about this over a year ago . Cellotex also comes with a paper backing and front that CAN be removed and also can be found in sheets without any covering . ( harder to find , but do some searching )
Very lightweight and STRONG !

im tryin just that all the cold weather and our GARDEN is just about dead so we been takin care of that and i havent had time to go get the foam
