The clutch bell was the problem and redcat has changed the clutch bells to a new steel upgraded one and the spring so the truck should be fine now, if not, it will cost $15 to get a new clutch bell. I was the one who originally started this whole gear stripping issue but belive me, upgrade the clutch bell if redcat hasnt already and you will be fine, just check the screws on the engine and mount to make sure they are tight before you run, thats normal for any rtr nitro.

Ok guys, I just talked to the Big Kahoona at Redcat Racing,

1. ALL single speeds come with a steel cluch bell installed.

2. ALL 2 speed redcats come with a 2 speed steel clutch bell included, not installed at no extra charge.

Green, please dont come on here and bash redcat. Your posts will be edited. This forum is for help, not for bashing with unhappy vehicles.
Thanks, hope you understand and welcome to the forum.

I just stripped my 3rd set of tranny spur gears I have made a sheild that covers the bottom of the car where the tranny is but it shouldnt need to be done it is a off road buggy tornado bb second one and third tank of gas for the first set of gears. I was wondering if anyone has any metal spur gear replacement or Will I need to change my brand of rc?

Its not the rc, you may have the mesh to far out, meaning the motor isnt close enough to the tranny.

no I have set it with the paper trick and still no luck. But seriously the first second I was off road a small rock seized my first tranny so I first used duct tape and it worked way better so then I made a new cover for the tranny but this time it still striped out everything was set up propely and the clutch is the redcar upgraded steal bell I have had so much greife with these cars it seems I work on them for about 10 hours for about a tank af fuel.

try an hpi bell or maybe the shaft that holds the spur gears on is bent.

Like using paper to space them like every one else? They were set perfact I think it was the heat in the clutch bell cause the gears to melt I am using a redcat steal clutch bell and you can see it has been getting hot.

Yea, not user error, but overheating or parts.
