Billy--
FWIW - No first hand experience with the BH T-28 -- but I noticed that it is on the cover of Model Airplane News (January 2008 issue) I received today and it is reviewed beginning on page 36.

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
T-28 Trojan
What was found and corrected
Cowling
Nose heavy
Angle of attack
First the plane went to gather as it should. Heck there’s not much to do. The pictures help that’s all you have for help on assembling this bird.
The cowling you should cut a big chunk out of the bottom for cooling. There is a formula for this I’m not sure what it is this is what I was told 3-1 (1= in 3= out ) three times as much going out as going in. Sounds good will it work??
Nose heavy yes! I added four ounces of lead to the tail.
Angle of attack If your flying off grass you may be ok, off asphalt angle of attack is + you could do loop shortly after take off if your not very careful. A couple clicks of down elevator took care of this. For a different approach to this problem I increased the main tires to a larger size front to smaller size works good.
This was a we job My test pilot friend and mentor of course me doing all the work.

I dont have any scale pics of this plane but they seem to have gone out of there way in the tail area to add counter balances , is this somewhat scale ?
Also flaps --scale ???or were they split
Does it have options for retracts ?
For $139 , I cant buy the gas to drive to the hobby shop to buy the wood and build one that cheap

Maybe these pictures will answer some of your questions. Some pictures of my Hobby People T-28, and a couple of a full-scale plane. The full-scale plane does not have tail counter-balances. The model does. The model does not seem to have the wood necessary to support retracts.

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
I havethe small version of this plane, it flies very nicely with a Magnum 52 fs in the nose. Can be a bit twitchy if the breeze gets up but it certainly flies very nicely and and is a show stopper at the field. It will do all the moves without problem and is a nice plane to fly.
Also have the 91 FS version almost complete, has a Thunder Tiger 91 in the pointy end. All went together well and am looking forward to flying it. Just need mother nature to cooperatea little on the weather front.
We have a couple of the full sized versions of these planes hangared at our local airport, they are fully operational and fly very nicely. If you ever get the opportunity to have a few minutes in one of these I can highly recommend the flying. They are noisy and oily and have an awesome presence in the air. The ones flying overhead are ex CIA planes that flew in Vietnam. Worth every cent of the money to go for a joy flight in them. Highly recommended if you get the opportunity just do it, you will never forget the experience

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
Well, your excellent video has sold me yellowred. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
It's now a matter of deciding which of the 2 sizes of the T-28 that BH makes, to purchase.

Hi Thanks Woody51
Buy the bigger one, I've heard its much smoother due to size amd weight,
someone said the smaller one can be a little twitchy when slow, ?
Good luck and ENJOY!![sm=wink_smile.gif]

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
Actually it probably will be the smaller one.
I have one of the new MVVS 4.6/840Kv Outrunner's coming from fellow RC Universe member, Dar Zeelon and the smaller BH T-28 looks an ideal candidate for a "home" for this motor.

Hi, Split flaps are just the lower part of the wing moving, leaving the top surface in place,
Your pic of the real one is like the 60size one, basic flaps!
I can say they work well on the model, slowing it down loads for landings[sm=wink_smile.gif]
Nice plane[sm=wink_smile.gif]

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
Is there a enough room in the fuselage for the nose wheel leg on retraction? Looking at the posted pics, I have my doubts.

RE: BH T28 Trojan ARF
I now have the smaller one and getting it ready for an electric conversion. BH have made it easy, supplying both an electric motor box mount and also glow engine bearers. Holes are drilled in the firewall for either set up and a removable Lipo battery tray screwed in the fuel tank compartment. It has the same removable belly pan covering the wing attachment bolts that the big one has- held in place via the same spring loaded catch. (The same catch is also found on the Phoenix Rainbow/Graupner Electro Kadett battery hatch cover.)
Well thought out by BH designers.
I am that impressed with the quality and finish of the model that I have now ordered the larger version. A Laser 100 4 stroke will be the power plant.
