SO what is the "BEST" electric drifting car should i get????? I am just starting i have a buggie but i want to know what kind to get i am looking at a sprint 2 drift or idk.... what r your thoughts. i want a nitro gas but i dont want to get it if i wont be able to drift.

Well for beginning drifting, go with the TT-01D, very good and reliable beginner car. The HPI's are a little but pricey. Yokomo's are expensive, and amazing for drifting, but I heard they fall apart on you a lot. I personally have had bad experiences with HPI's (but that doesn't mean they are bad)
Also you can get the TT-01D for around $130 USD (United States Dollar)
If you really want to save money, you can mod your buggy for drifting (stiffer shocks, more "drift capable" motor*, drift tires, etc...)
I can't help you with Nitro because I have never drifted them, so I don't want to mislead you.

Yeah people still think " Must have Nitro 2WD as thats what I have seen on TV"...
RC Drifting and Real Drifting have very little in common...
Electric, AWD and Polypipe Tyres on a Smooth Surface are indeed the Key elements for Great Sliding and good times...

I wanted to Bump-it... and say a few things
I recently converted one of my several TC4's to a dedicated drifter... After READING this post I knew basically what needed to be done.... Thanks to the O.P. ...
I picked up some new rims, (9mm offset in rear, 6mm offset in front - to compensate for the body choice) and some HPI drift tires (old schools) which I soon changed to regular Drift tires by Yokomo *no rings, just hard drift compound street tread drift tires*
I then set the shocks and ride height for the body *again just for asthetics*
I run a 19t Epic motor on 4000mah Lipo's
As for the diffs, I run my front tightened to almost locked and the rear a tad bit loser
I went with the HPI Mustang GTR body *200mm .. Eleanor paint scheme.. I added a 3racing LED kit (comes with a spiffy control box for brakes, turn signals et) and wired in some other LED's for under car neons... also added the yokomo side mirrors and Hot racing disk brakes
I will edit this tomorrow or sunday with some photos of the car chassis and body mounted.. I think it looks pretty tricked...
I only need one thing for the car and it will be completed.... unfortunately non of my LHS's or online hangouts carry it....But soon, I will find the elusive SKILL needed to keep this thing sideways through a double S turn!!!!

I was thinking of getting a Traxxas Nitro 4 Tec 3.3. I mainly want a nitro car thats as fast as my 'ol Rustler, but I was hoping to do a *little* drifting too. Can it work for high speeds AND drifting?

nicely put; 1 thing i thought i might mention
If you find the car is spinning out (oversteering) or not turning fast enough (understeering) the first thing to try is to adjust the trim setting, and steering dual rate on your controller. This controls the range at which the servo moves. Increasing dual rate means your car should turn faster. If you still feel problems, then you may need to adjust camber or front toe to different settings.
you might want to upgrade the steering servo, the cheapeer it is the less steering it will give you

Hi. I've got a Tamiya TRU-02 Porsche. The original tires wore down so I bought 1:10 drift tires from Carson. They fit fine but they broke on one of the first times I tried them. I bought another set that were made from nylon the guy at the shop told me they were strong and would last longer. Those broke right away too! I'm not crashing the car and am just driving it on the street! Do any of you have any advice on what I should look for when buying wheels / tires because this is starting to get expensive! I'm so frustrated!
