The rustlers 2.5 carb is set at factory settings and we just replaced the piston/sleeve because it wouldnt start after he apparantly hit over 350*.
so... new piston sleeve and factory set carb and we still have a problem. now its starting but when we give it any throttle at all it dies instantly. also there is fuel lightly misting from the carb intake when we take the air filter off. The plug is definatly getting red hot and it seems to be flooding itself. we have leaned the low and the high speed needles to no avail. I have broke in 3 trx engines with no problems in the past. The fuel lines are air tight and as far as we can tell the rest of the engine is not leaking either. It primes instantly. He brought this over and we cant get it going! It is really frustrating me. Anything helps.

did you line up the ports right,did you put the right shims in the head,did you put new gaskets on,after you do all that look for air leaks in the motor if all that dont fix it then just get a new motor

rebuilding these little engines is never cost effective
by the time you buy all the parts to do it right
you're very close to the cost of a new engine
especially with e-bay

i rv sealed the whole shabang after taking it totally apart and rebuilding it. I would have used the trx step by step instructions if i had any problems. I used the soapy bubble test There is no air leak and this post iS DEAD BECAUSE ITS HEADED TO THE FRIKEN SHOP!
