RE: 20% or 30% Nitro?
20 is better, kyosho recommend 15 % for there engines, traxxas the same if you look at there recommended fuel they use, its v oily, 20% is in my opinion perfect for keeping a better tune in differing air conditions, engine life and power, 25% is in my opinion pushing your luck with engine wear/long life, 20 % is just great, l would not change fuels once an engine is run in on that fuel, keep using the same one/type.

Here at the track everyone uses 20% because they get 2 more laps on a tank full vs 30%.
better fuel mileage with lower content ..better power on 30%.
It dont hurt anything to change fuels..just tune accordingly.

RE: 20% or 30% Nitro?
so if i go from 20 to 30 should i richen up the needles or lean 'em out? my picco seemed to run smoother with 20 percent, then i switched to 30 and there's a clear increase in power but it the RPM is all over the place. it seems like the RPM hold high after i let off the throt. should i attempt to tune it with 30 or should i just go back to 20?

I run 30 or 35 percent in all six of my Piccos. I cannot help you with the setting changes though as that is all they have seen since they came into my possession. BB

You richen for high nitro %. If the rpm's are hanging after a WOT. Few things come to mind. You are too lean LSN if you let off THEN it revs. Linkage would be another, prolly not in your case though! Air leak is another! Temps would be a good reference point! If temps are high I would say you are too lean. You could have a high idle masking a too rich LSN. That would cause the problem too! With this symptom you will have a lower temp though, instead of a high temp.

If you try to lean it out... your temp is gonna get a bit high and your rpm will definitely will vary... as savage_dude said try to richen up your LSN then from there you can try out richening your HSN or leaning it out.

RE: 20% or 30% Nitro?
thanks! but i've decided to stick with 20% because the picco has plenty of power running with 20% and i like the broader range i have to hold a tune.
