Default big race

Well Tommorow i'm entering my first RC Race... i do feel like i have some knowledge pertaining too how i enter, and stuff like that.
i'm entering my 10th scale for 19 turn, and my 18th scale. i don't care how i do in standings. The main thing is that i have fun, and learn lots, so that next time i can be more prepared.
i'm really excited about having my own pit area. I've just been obsessed with everything rc for the last 2 years, since i bought my Savage.
Does anybody have any pointers, too help me gain some more confidence in myself for Tommorow??? i'm really nervous, but mostly excited!!! it's goin too be awesome.

what ever you do, dont make it you against the other racers, your going to make mistakes that way. run as fast as you can but run your own race at your own pace, do that and you wont be nervous.

I assume you're racing the TC and the 1/18th?

The main things you should do:

1.) Understand how the race day works: Ask a fellow racer how it works. They will tell you and help you through your first day.

2.) Respect other cars: let the faster cars pass you. You'll know when you're slowwer than them, so just let them pass.

3.) Have FUN!!!

4.) see what the others are running at your track. mainly look for gearing and tires. if you run foams, make sure to use traction compound. it makes a difference!!

5.) Have FUN!!!!!!!!

6.) make sure to have spare parts.

7.) Have FUN!!!!

8.) Have FUN!!!!!!!!!!

9.) have enough batteries for the day.

10.) Have FUN!!!

Most tracks use a transponder that mounts through a hole in the body and is held on by a body clip. So make sure you have a hole in the body about the size of the other body mount holes. Atleast thats what they do in offroad. Maybe it's different in onroad.

I am not sure about on-road cars, but many off-road vehicles have a place some where on the chassis to mount a transponder. You may have a place to put it on your car already, so check on that.
My Raze buggy has a small "mount" that I can attach a transponder to, with a third channel on the reciever to pug it in.
If you end up using a transponder, you will either need a third channel for the transponder, and AUX output on the reciever, or you can use a Y-harnes as well.
Double check the rules for the race, and if you have time before the race, head down to your LHS for advice on it. They should be able to help.
DO NOT buy your own transponder since many of the race sponsors use their own transponder system, and they are not all compatible with eachother.
Have fun, and good luck!

Well, just an update on my first race day ever! It was so fun... i entered 20th scale mod, and 18th scale.
I did very well i heard for a newbie first time racer. I held a solid 2nd place in mod for the first half of the race till i went over the wall, then i dropped down too third too finish the race. (out of 4 people)
Then in 18th scale(man are those things slow) i placed 2nd out of 3 people... but the main thing is that i had fun!!!
i had the whole experience, and learned some new tips for the next race i enter.
Just wanted too let you guys no how i did..... Dam i'm excited, can't wait for the next race.

Cool, a Regina guy. I would have been at the race today, but no one else from S'toon was going. To take the fun to the next level of intensity, consider coming to the Calgary WCICS race at the end of March. We always set up carpooling and shared hotel rooms to keep the cost down.

Hey Adam, howz it goin?
So you were probably at the WCIC race in Regina then a couple weeks ago.... ya, i just went too watch and hang out ,, and learn some things
Apparently Kevin Phillips was at a Roar Race in Billings over the weekend(I've known him since i was a kid.) I guess he won 19t class. So what kind of car do you run???
I'm just new in it, so i just got a good starter car the losi-xxx-s. I was just pumped about having my own little pit space too work on it at. Would you believe i was so flustered when i first started racing that i went upstairs(too the driver stand) with my car in my hand!! haha man i felt like a retard. ohwell. peace out

The Saskatoon club races are every Saturday. But, we do take some weeks off for holidays and WCICS races. March 15 is the next S'toon race, and after that we don't race until April. You are welcome to come up.
