B400: Blade Pitch
Hey guys, after having to rebuild dads heli, at 50% throttle, one blade is at 8degrees and the other is at 4. what's the correct pitchs for these blades? Tried searching but too many non important posts containing the word pitch and blade 400 lol.

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
After many a crash and not to successful a rebuild someone told me to do your setup in idle up mode. Did it and it made all the difference! Unplug the motor. Turn everything on. Set all trims and sub trims on tx to center. Set all servos to 45 degrees. Set your throttle at 50%. (You did unplug the motor didn’t you?) Now set the pitch to 0. Worked for me.

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
You can do this in throttle hold if you are very careful.
Just set the Hold pitch curve to 0-25-50-75-100.
Make sure you do not bump or switch throttle hold back on.
You are shooting for -10d at low stick, 0d at center stick and +10d at high stick.

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
If I change the pitch to +10 0 -10 i know that will make my blades not track right. How do you change the pitch so its correct and still track the blades. mine was like + 14 +3 - 11

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
Are you sure you are measuring the pitch correctly?
I wouldn't think -11 to +14 is even possible.
But anyway, as long as the pitch is the same on both blades they should track OK regardless of the pitch number.

well maybe this will work seems like your having same problem i had at one point and i just did all this and works great!
i think the guys name on here was druss.... well here it is
quote:
ORIGINAL: sniperironman
alright im gunna go set it all up today when i get home the only linkange that i moved were the ones connected to the grips but let me know if im doing it right
disconnect motor first
turn on heli and TX, flip to idle up and put throttle stick at mid stick, have everything centerd swash lever horns centerd or atleast as close as possible, use sub-trims as required to get to 90 deg trims centerd ....
and set my TX
throt norm: 0-25-50-75-100
throt stunt: 100-92.5-65-92.5-100
pitch norm: 35-50-67-85-100
pitch stunt: 0-25-50-75-100
flip to idle up put set stick to center "50" my gauge should be lever to fly bar reading 0 pitch
flip swich to normal and put stick to center "50" and should read at least 0 to +2 pitch
in idle up place stick "100" and should read +10 and -10 when stick is down
In normal mode the pitch should read -2 (or so) at bottom stick and +10 at top stick
in idle up mode, check the swash level at bottom, mid and top stick, use end points to fix at top and bottom, use links from servos to swash and sub-trims to fix mid stick.
does this look like i will start off correctly or did i miss something once again lol i actualy found those pitch and throttle curvs on heli freak thanks everyone for the help

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
I lengthend all three pushrods to the swashplate 6 half turns. I guess after three total rebuilds I have move the pushrods so much I had 13 4 -13 in normal. Now I have 10 0 -9 in normal. Now that I did it I know it should still track right because all the pushrods where lengthend evenly. Do you guys think this is the right setting. I may get to try Tomorrow . all depends on wind.

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
just make sure ur doing it in idle up mode and make sure ur swash mix is set to 60 in transmitter
NORMAL PITCH=STICK AT BOTTOM -2/STICK IN MIDDLE=0/STICK FULL UP=+10
IDLE UP PITCH=STICK AT BOTTOM=-10/ STICK IN MIDDLE=0/STICK FULL UP=+10
IN THROTTLE HOLD THE SAME PITCH IN IDLE UP
AND MAKE SURE UR EVERY TRIM IS CENTER & SWASH MIX IS AT 60%
NORMAL PITCH=STICK AT BOTTOM -2/STICK IN MIDDLE=0/STICK FULL UP=+10
IDLE UP PITCH=STICK AT BOTTOM=-10/ STICK IN MIDDLE=0/STICK FULL UP=+10
IN THROTTLE HOLD THE SAME PITCH IN IDLE UP

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
Here I set my Blade 400 Right.
Set pit curve to 50% at Mid stick, remove all trims, unplug motor, set all the servo's to 90* or close to 90. use a 90* square to level the swash. Then make the Washout level, then make the fly bars level, then put on the blades and set them to 0, re adjust washout and other thing making them all line up line up, spinning it up with no blades, move the fly bars around and check eveything is still level at mid stick like suppose to. put blades back on , check the pitch make it sure its 0.
Then go into swash setting in your TX. goto Pitch setting. Put the throttle to 100%, Install pitch gauge and set it to 10* adjust the Pitch % until you get 10* at 100% throttle.
If all the mixer arms are installed correctly you should also have -10 at 0 throttle. I had one of the mixer arms installed backward and I never got it right. I was getting total of 20* pitchs but it will be like 14 on postive side and 6 in neg, etc.
Then track the blades, only track one blade, I do which ever is lower.
I hover the heli to eye level and track, when I get it real close, I hover with Idleup to eye level and track again. You can't always get them perfect, I can't.
Finless bob, trex setup video helped me a lot.

RE: B400: Blade Pitch
14 degrees of positive pitch is pretty high. That is what the pro's have and you have to use collective management to avoid bogging the motor down. I have mine set at 11 so I don't have to use collective management.
