Well i found out that my TRX 2.5 snapped a rod and i was wondering which brand of rod and piston to go with.

If I were u I would get the reccomended traxxas piston/sleeve/rod to rebuild it with because that way u know for sure that it will fit that particular engine....

ya, i was also wondering if the 3.3 sleeve and piston will fit in the 2.5 motor?

It is possible that it MIGHT, but dont quote me on that. Someone else can better answer this one than I can....

i want to try and build a hybrid motor. 3.3 piston and sleeve, and the 2.5 rod with a 3.3 head. all in and around a TRX 2.5 block

ya i want to try it but i need a bare block to start with. i am not doing it with this engine. i am sending this one to traxxas for their ERP. and i need to find a junk TRX 2.5 to start with.

no it will not work because the internal bore is .20 and the bore for a 2.5 is .15 (or maybe .18)

welp there goes my idea then. oh well. hmm unless i can bore out the 2.5 block to fit the 3.3 sleeve and piston.

yeah you could but why not just save yourself some time and buy a 3.3

this will be a spare motor, its an experiment more so.

Ok, well, basically if you do the above, you will have a shagged out 3.3.

The 2.5 and the 3.3 use the same rod.
