Default Hangar 9 27% Extra 260...need feedback asap

So I was browsing through the other thread, but I can't look through over 130 pages...Someone has one for sale with a Moki 1.8 motor, all high torque servos, everything for a pretty good price (everything less a receiver)...I wanted to know what people thought of this plane all around as a sport aerobatic plane as well as a 3D plane...Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as well as influential in making my decision. Thanks very much (btw anyone in my other thread the Extra300 is comin along great so far)...Thanks again.

Cant help on that one i only ran a glow engine once,it got Icky stuff on my test stand,my extra had a satio 220 on it before i bought it,you can probably convert that moki pretty easy, just kidding, anyway have fun its a great airplane,if you get a used one check for crack at rudder counter balance, easy fix,or delaminating carbon gear, they guys in the build forum are great, its all in there.

the carbon fiber landing gear has to go? I figured. Do you like using the nylon bolts on the gear too?

It will likely fly better with a Moki 180 than a gasser.
Good luck

a 50cc will haul it allright. Its ok if you are a bank and yank type of guy.Its insanely wingloaded with that motor and alot of low speed agiltiy is gone. With a good running Moki it will overall handle better and deliver better 3D.

Awsome plane, got a DL50 in mine. I originaly had a OS 160, It flew well, but once I put the 50 in it became a beast, flys alot better with the 50 than with the 160. Wing loading is a non event, still flys beatifully and slow, and will fly to the moon, when asked. This combo f#@%$n rocks. Precise and makes me look alot better than I am. I'm gonna go larger because of it, it gave me the confidence. With the 50 my fuel bill is a 1/4 of what it was with the 160. Buy it! You wont be sorry.

Yeah, eventually I may go gas just bc of fuel, but the Moki only needs 5% (what type of fuel were people using/finding the best results if don't mind me asking)? I'm getting it with a Moki, and I'm in the middle of a 26CC extra300s build, so cant really afford to be swapping motors right now, but maybe down the road...I've heard a lot of good about this Moki, and hopefully fuel prices shouldn't be an issue...Thanks for all the feedback though, my plane was shipped out today, should be here by Mon/Tues.

I was using 10% nitro cool power supplied by our club guy at 9 bucks a litre which is quite good, but I was using 2 litres a week, and now I use about 4 or less litres a month, at ^ bucks for 4 litres. Much better, plus the power of the DL is awsome. Good luck bro, its a ****in cool plane.

for the Moki 1.8, would any 5% fuel really work? Powermaster, Omega...?

Got a Moki 180 in mine at its sweet. keep it light, and the moki will haul it round well.
used straight 80/20 in mine, no nitro, and it runs good. just got to prime it well and it will start easily. make sure you got large diameter fuel lines, and possibly a pump or cline reg.

I got 5% for mine, thats what the previous owner ran in it...the plane is RTF, Im just putting in a receiver and putting the horizontal stabs back on (taken off due to shipping) but if there are any problems I'll keep that in mind...Good to hear the Moki kicks some butt though, what percentages do you like the expo at for low/high?..I'm generally not a huge fan of expo (my twist, profile etc are all 100% all the time) but I figure I'll get used to it. Thanks.
