My recent last crash stripped my nylon gears in one of my JR Ds285 servo's. I upgraded to the MG version which now has metal gears. They are a good servo and are even digital... Another popular favorite is the HS65mg's...But I believe there not digital...All personal choice...

RE: need new servos
Hitec HS-65HB's are good too, plus they do not develop slop like metal gears can ... however after about 3-4 hard crashes the gears will strip and need to be replaced, but at around $7-8 who can complain?
A cheaper alternative I keep on-hand for emergency servo replacement are TowerPro SG90's they are very good performers for their price, and can be found for about $5-6 each online.

RE: need new servos
I have had Hitec HS-65mgs on my T-Rex 450 for over a year now and they have NOT developed any slop. I also use the same HS-65mg servos in my 47" [link=http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=2096]3D Hobby Shop Extra 300 SHP[/link]. I know it is a plane but some aerobatics really put alot of stress on the servos and they work great in this application. I also really like not having to rebuild my servos after a crash. It is just one less thing I have to deal with when rebuilding after a crash.
I use some of the HXT/Tower Pro 9G servos in some of my more inexpensive foam airplanes and they work great. I just don't have the guts to put them on any of my more expensive helicopters or planes.
