Oh, and also, do you get good performance with your dl50 and stock muffler.

Hi 334755,
My Extra came out at 17lbs even with no fuel. As for performance if you're interested in specific RPM's and such I have no idea. Don't really care actually. I just know that it hauls the plane around the sky quite nicely. I rarely use more than half throttle.

I am thinking about getting this bird. But i'm also thinking about getting an aeroworks extra 260 50cc. I here the AW extra has better performance than the EF in terms of tumbles, rolls and all out 3d but the EF comes out on top in stall positions such as harriers and hovers. I'm more of an all out 3d kind of guy. What do you guys think?
Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, work keeps getting in the way. The length is measured from the start of the header to the serrated line where the tuned pipe mount sits. If you buy the KS kit http://www.krumscheid-metallwaren.de...ng=EN&anr=551# the length is perfect.
Cheers
PS: I know it says its for the YAK, but fits the extra perfectly too.

Wavy,,when you say 720mm,,were are you measuring from and to where?

The AW does have higher wingloading just by doing the math but the power to weigh ratio is awesome with a 50.
I reviewd both of these planes and I can tell you, don't knock the AW.. there are things I really like about it. It rolls a lot quicker and does awesome tumbles that the EF just can't do. Check out the first min of my review video for some tumbles http://videoserver.rcuniverse.com/rc...aw2603D_HQ.wmv
That being said the EF is larger, tracks better, and is more stable in 3D.
Both great planes.. depends what you want.. I thnk the EF has the edge it tracks better and I like it for 3D. I did love winding up the AW though.. lots of fun

Missed this vid before, Jake, its one of the better ones. For my tastes it moves around too swiftly, doesnt appear to float lightly. As you said, its personal preferance
Sure seems like an agile 260 though.

Hey guys, I know this is totally off topic, but i've been wondering about either getting the aeroworks extra 260 50cc or the dietrich 50cc. My truck is to small for the EF extra so that is out of the question. It seems like you all are experts when it comes to to choosing planes. So which would you guys get, the aw or the dietrich. Comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

I have Nissian truck with 6 ft bed and I can fit the EF in no problem. It fits in corner to corner with stabs off. The Ef yak will fit also just not at the same time

Hey man i have a ford ranger and the ef extra fits fine w/ the tailgate down. I leave the wing tube in and put a hold down around each side of the wing tube, cross them over the model and hook them to the bed, that way the model cant move back toward the bed. I run a 3rd hold down accross the tail gate and behind the landing gear right over the wheel pants, this keeps it from moving forward towards the cab. I it holds down rock solid so dont be afraid to transport with the tail gate down for extra room. I got the hold down ties from home depot for like 20 bucks, they are blue nylon with "s" hooks and ratchet tensioning mechanism.

Like this?
This Yak is similar in dimensions. Speeds of up to 70 mph on regular basis before I got the trailer.

All of them are great airframes..you pays your money....you takes your choice....
if you want extreme 3d buy the AW, you want a nice IMAC / 3d machine buy the EF extra, if you want the best of both worlds buy the ef yak...

Cashey, welcome to the forum. This is my first gasser here and it is sweet! I noticed it looks like you hard mounted your ignition. I think they recommend mounting i like you would a receiver, with soft mounts and foam, at least that's what Brillelli and C-H ignitions say to do. Just wait till you fly it you will have a new favorite plane!
Good flying!

Definitely put 1/2" foam under it and either zip tie not too tight or better velcro.

Went to the Chattanooga 3D Flyin this weekend and flew my EF Extra 300. Milton from RC Extreme Power was there and final tuned my Area 51 and Chris from Extreme Flight was there and flew my plane and set it up. What a way to get your new plane flying. The Extra 300 with the Area 51 flew great. Chris put the plane through about ever 3D stunt possible and the plane handle great. The Area 51 was set at 6800 rpm max (turned it up to 7200 but richen the engine to 6800 for breakin) with lawnboy premix and pulled harriers and hovers with no trouble. I must say again the service from these people is outstanding.

Bill thanks for the comments and glade we could help, Told you we were going to have a good time and thanks for the fans and cool breeze, Sure made things a lot nicer.
That is one thing about Chris and Extreme Flight RC, Not only a great built plane with good hardware and service but fly's great. I don't think you can find a better set up than what he has. Now I am just waiting on the Edge to get here.

OH no, I might have let the cat out of the bag, I just hear that there may be a 87-88" Edge somewhere down the pike.
