Default RC GERMAN HOMEMADE TIGER

hi i've never had a rc tank of any sort. I started to build a german tiger and i plan to make it rc. i have the electric radio reciever and transmitter, but i dont know how to make the treads or caterpiller tracks( im not sure whats it called).Heres photos of my tank the bodys almost complete just have to add exhuast system behind the turret and make the machine gun periscope in the front. My tank's completely made out of foam and paper and some yarn string.
do u know if its possible to make the tread thingy or should i buy custom tread track thingys.?

Looks good for a first off go. Its made out of styrene mostly? Not sure if you could get it to run if it has paper components though. Any way looks good at the moment.

This is an elaborate prank correct? I mean, with all due respect, for a foam and paper model held together by string, its is quite unique. However, you don't really believe your materials are sturdy enough to support actual remote control operation?

no its not a prank the string doesn't hold it it's soposed to hold the shovel . I used crazy glue and elmers glue. its really sturdy
thanks for the site u gave me but those treadmills are made out of metal. i cant make treads out of metal. i might have to buy custom size treads. i might be able to make the plastic treads.

Don't know if they'd be the right size or suit your desire in the looks department, but Tamiya sells adjustable track kits. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBFP9&P=7
What you got so far looks awesome!

hi there, i've finished the tank. its brown now instead of blue. The wheels are partly plastic because foam wheels get burned by the motors. It has 2 speed and goes left and right but not backwards. The turret isn't operational but i could make it though. The battery is 9.2 nihm. The treads are made out of foam glued to tape and rubber. I'll try and get pics up soon

lol i cant believe this is real. must say congrats on making a paper/plastic/glue/string tank work. what did you make the treads out of?

also your initial Screen Shots made me think it was a kit you were putting together until i opened the pictures.

Pretty Neat, Dont't let the negitive replies get you down. Most people dont't appreciate what they lack in talent. Others are just scared of new things. Just because they never heard of a tank being built with foam and such doesnt mean it wont work. Remeber if you dont get it the first time, that just means you have discovered a way NOT to do it next time. I think its great. Shows you have more passion for it than those of us ( including me ) when it comes to modeling a tank. Anyone can buy a Kit and put it together, but you are inventing the kit. [8D]

I used to design and build r/c aircraft that exceed 150mph in wood, fiberglass, aluminum and carbon fiber.

Like my other ideas this one failed. I placed in an RC system with 4 motors that were attached to the hull and directly driving the foam wheels. It didn't work, the motors were too fast and burned through the foam wheels. I was using a non proportional system. In the end I just made the tank into a static display. I also realized its not very scale. The turret it too short and there is no ground clearance for the hull. I 'm thinking of selling it to some expert who will hopefully make it RC. I ask for your opinions! I'm also thinking of making a Panther tank and a Puma armored car and making them with my newly acquired skills and selling them to anyone who wants to convert to rc. I will make them how so that there is ample space for "rc stuff".
EDIT: I KEEP TRYING TO POST PICS BUT THEY WONT UPLOAD GARHH!!!
