The old Pan Stormy used to do pretty good at the races, but you would have to put the new ones on a big diet first before you try and race them [:-]

I want to buy that bulk head support but the shipping is 25 bucks and I can't justify paying that for a 16 dollar part.

When I get my mods all on I will post pictures, should be in a week.

Nate- thanks for the advice on the oil, I will try somethign heavier on my next rebuild. I am finding the back to be a bit light and the truck sags a bit too much as well - about 3/4 inch or more. Does anybody else have this problem?

How the the Nitrostar G3 engine compare to the old MT2 .15 engine? Has anyone had experience with both? I can't imagine the smaller engine that is a bit weaker working a 4wd, the truck must be pretty anemic.

Got my firestorm up to 50mph today!!! I went flying at a private runway, so I took the storm with me, hung the tranny out the window while my mate drove, I dont recommend it but we had 2 miles of runway to do it in, couldn't believe this little thing could go so fast, How much faster will it go if I put decent fuel in it!!
So to celebrate i'm gonna post more pics.............. these were taken as soon as i got home, so this is as it was when it hit 50

nice looking storm! looks just like the one I used to have. Hitech 645 is a good replacement servo for steering.

Yes that is the servo I was talking about. you up grade to a higher torque servo to get better steering response and when you are driving off road having a stronger servo makes turning easier. I think it is one of the best upgrades you can do for your firestorm.

changing the servo is just swaping it out and putting the linkage back on the wires have connectors already so just about 6 srews or so?

A bit of a story. My truck was stuck against a curb yesterday, I ran over to get it free and pushed the antenna down to not poke other pedestrians eyes out. Freed the truck, hit the throttle and it took off full speed, just misses a cement municipal pole heads full speed towards a brick wall.

I wake up, pull the antenna out at the last second, hit the brake and the truck stopped 6 inches from the wall......

I heard people say that when you have a runaway you won't go without a safety device in the future. They are correct. Any recommendations, I saw some in the thread previously but thought I would bring it up again.

Just bought a Savage X 25 on ebay for a project to work on....but I will still keep my firestorm as the main truck. I just want something to drive on grass in the rougher stuff.

Are you driving on lawn or is the grass sporatic? That makes a big difference. My truck bottoms out with 3-4 inch tall lawn and lifts the truck up. I pinned the throttle once when it was engangled in this and burned a spur gear. No more of that for me.

I'm back again! After spending two days with my cousins and friends, playing football, basket ball, and guitar,I'm too sore to do anything!I ran my trusty Storm at the track and on the road. This thing is QUICK!I had a screw work it's way out of the hub carrier and lock the front left wheel.I simply screwed it back in and used lock-tite.

After staying behind the scenes for a while,I noticed a lot of guys upgrading their Storms. They're looking good guys!!!Sometimes I feel I should give my Storm to a better home.Someone who will race this thing.I personaly believe my Firestorm is race capable and would like to see it compete. But,alas,I can't take it to races without a drivers lincense.Plus I'm real busy right now and have very little time to run it.So if anyone is interested in buying a racing Storm in the future,be on the look out for a ad...[]It may not happen for a while yet...

That bumper is cool. I ordered one. I also got a roto starter kit ordered. Get this, I broke the pull start when applying after run oil - on the initial slow 6" pull. The big accomplishment was that I actually got it rewound and it works again, but I always looked at the pull starter as a temporary solution.

A lot of stuff is coming in next week, I will post photos when I get it all together. Its big brother, the savage SS will be here at the end of the week.

Keep the photos coming....
