I found the following on the amainhobbies.com web site. I need some bullet connectors to wire up my new ESC to my new motor.

1. It is strange that they would only come in packs of two, and

2. They all have a hole in the side of the connector into which the tinned wire goes.

Even the guy at amain didn't know what they were for sure. He speculated that it might be a new way of soldering them.

Any thoughts?

The holes allow you to apply solder INTO the connector to assure a good connection and bond all the way around the wire.

Selling in lots of 2 is unusual. Typically they are sold in single pairs or lots of 3. The hole is for soldering as r william's indicates.

Yes, I thought that this was weird myself.

I just talked to an older person who has a lot more soldering experience than I do, and he claimed that the extra hole was to let air escape. That didn't make a lot of sense, I admit.

So if the holes are to allow for the introduction of solder to the inside of the cup, how are they used? The hole seems to small to accept the thickness of the solder I am using.

The solder melts and flows into the connector when properly heated.
