Yeah, That's what I said earlier.

For insane efficiency and power you will need a low Kv (rpm per volt) Neu motor (1515 1.5y) on 6s (6 Lipo cells in series. 22.2v)

You should be a little faster than the nitros, (your acceleration will be massively higher, so if it's a sma track, you will have the advantage) and with a 5Ah (5000Mah)( can sustain a 5A draw for 1 hour, or a 1A draw for 5 hours) you should be able to drive for ~20 minutes in race conditions.

Oh yea, Ive heard that the feiago motors dont last long is this true???? In that case what would you guys reccomend for a tight budget?

That's a fine motor as long as you are running 3s.

But a big NO for the esc. I wouldn't use one in an airplane. The breaks aren't rated for enough current to quickly slow down the measliest of props.

For a good esc, you can use a Mamba max, This:

A sidewinder has a 75A rating (I think) so you should be good if you are easy on the gearing.

But to save battery life and have a cooler running system, using a separate servo for breaking is definitely the way to go. Especially since you are converting a nitro...

Well the spur is 51t and the truck doesnt look like a much bigger onre will fit, but I am going to drop as many pinion teeth as possible, and Well Im not sure if Im ready for lipo...so what does that mean as for power? U said "thats a fine motor as long as ur running 3s" What if im not? what will I see out of that motor?

What about out runner motors??? I herd that theyre really efficient

Hey Im thinking about turning my sportswerks turmoil electric. What would I need to run 3, 5 min qualifiers and a 20 min main? I was talking to a guy at my track and he said his 4s lipo wouldnt make it 20 min so Im a little hesitant of changing over. Im really getting tired of nitro so hopefully I can pull this off by next race season.

My Nanda Buggy with Novak Power!











The Nanda is very similar to a Kyosho and I even used the Novak Kyosho conversion kit that was a perfect fit.

I did mount the ESC on the same side as the motor and in the front. I like dual battery trays with one on each side to balance the buggy.

Nanda 1/8th Scale Buggy
Novak Conversion kit (Kyosho)
Novak HV Pro ESC
Novak HV 7.5 motor
Elite li-po batteries 2S 6600 mah 7.4 volt 30C rated (X 2)

I'll be using 2 Thunder Power chargers and balancers to individually charge at 6.6 amps.

What's this Novak "power" you speak of?

Phil from the west:
A 6s or 5s lipo and low Kv motor is definitely better for efficiency, but as discussed earlier, it is pretty difficult to keep an electric buggy going for 20 minutes at race speeds.

Here's some theory for you:
A big motor not working very hard because it makes more power should draw less amps than a smaller motor that has to work at a higher percentage of it's maximum output to move the car at the same speeds.

BUT!

It is WAY easier to fit 4s2p in a buggy than 6s2p, so a Neu 1515 1Y on 4s2p lipo should work fine.

(these are pretty much the most advanced car esc's out there)
Less resistance than a Mamba Monster, and the esc will shut power off to the motor if it is overloaded, preventing a burnt up motor, and the esc is fuse protected, so you won't burn up the esc either. Not to mention it has an internal BEC capable of operating at 6s lipo.

Motor mount:

Can't find one on rcmonster. You might have to get a custom one, or make your own. Maybe you can fid out if the turmoil rear bulkhead mounting holes match up with any other buggy...

2 of those batteries will make the buggy significantly heavier than nitro, it won't handle very good. Those batteries are pretty big in person.

After owning an electric 1/8th scale 4 years ago the Novak has the best motor mount and the simpliest to adapt to exisiting equipment that will not flex or move that tears things up on other systems.

Novak has done they're homework on this and have a very good conversion system that makes it real easy to convert.

I think that an RCM motor mount and a Novak motor mount together would be the best possible combination for stiffness.

The Fact is, big batteries and expensive equipment are needed if you plan to race against nitros.

Unless you are so much faster that you can do more laps in 15 minutes than they can in 20...

That buggy is running on 3s 4400Mah. Run time is 12-15 minutes.

If you make that about 6500Mah on 4s, (motor works less and draws less amps B/C it has a higher voltage input)...

OUCH! no I not have money for that, i only want that the truck move trough terrain. the motor is strong I think it can made the revo run 10 mph?

It will burn up with any gearing... And JM, the novak mounts are specifically made for the HV-Maxx motors.

Your options are limited but you can maybe try a Revolver 970 with an EVX ESC or something around those boundaries that will be able to handle it.

but that's not really low cost. You can get a brushless motor and esc for cheaper.

not sure how long the diff's would last ? i've heard tales that some people have run these car's with no diff problems. now i had 2 both had diff problems i didn't repair them i gave one away and was going to convert the other but i have picked up the pinions that are worn after 5 tanks so i don't know if it's a good ideal cause there's no update/ugrade option.

Greeting Good People! I'm new to this site and have been watching for some time now. Lots of information here! Well needless to say I have questions that I'm sure you knowledge holders can answer: (1) What's the difference between a RC car esc and say.... a plane or boat esc. I ask because I have a E-LST2 and I'm currently using my Drag Car's Mamba Max and I'm looking for a reasonable alternative to the MM. I mean all specs being the same (100a esc) what's the difference?[] (2) I run a 9XL 540 Feiago on my LST2, twin 2s MaxAmps 6000mah batteries; on the straights, I'm getting pulled by Nitros[>:] and I mean to fix this ASAP. No disrespect to the Nitro people but I'm ELECTRIC all the way[:'(]. I want to upgrade to a 7XL Feiago but some people tell me I risks extreme tempeture issues and the swap isn't worth the hassel. I would love to her your opinions on this. I've posted pictures of the trucks I'm running in the gallery on the general section. Take a look, I have my E-LST2 there; the blue one with the F-650 body and yellow 40 series wabash and wing[&:]. So please shed some light on these questions. Thanks.

By twin 2s 6Ah batteries, do you mean 2s2p, or 4s1p?

There are many other motors that would be more suited to such a big truck other than what Feiago has to offer.

Take a look at the KB45 XL's.

Or a Neu 1515. Maybe a 1521. (but that might be a stretch.)
