My local hobby store carries these two models and parts.

I intend to run across my lawn, jumps, bashing around. No race plans.

Any issues with the steering? Did you have to tighten or modify to enjoy.

I am looking to just run jump?

How did it do on grass?

thanks

For purely off-road bashing, I'd recommend the mini-LST2. Due to it's larger tires and overall size, it'll be able to better tackle grass and larger clumps of dirt.

I have returned with the Losi Mini LST2. It is a little larger than the rc18mt and has almost a full inch of better ground clearance.

You can adjust the stance of the vehicle to have is ride taller. I can mow low, but need to leave some green. Time will tell about my level of bashing vs repair time.
Was also really interested in the losi rock hopper 1/18. boy can you really drop some fast coin. PS bought at eflite mcx heli for rainy days.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Enjoy your new truck! The "2" is a much more reliable truck than the original mini-LST ever was. You shouldn't have any problems with the differentials, and the DSM radio is the icing on the cake. What are your modification plans for it? If you're going brushless, LMK and I'll tell you where to get an awesome motor for it.

Im aware the servos wont hold up great and that it should be replaced with a 1/10 scale servo, but what are the issues with the lst2's diffs. From what I've read they are metal and hold up well.

The diffs should work fine for the stock power system, however the internal spider gears can have problems under high stresses - either high powered brushless/Li-Po systems or simply bad driving. If you really want to make sure the diffs don't have any problems, you should shim them. There are some shimming guides that can be found if you search around.. Google it maybe? PM me and I will give you the links for the message boards.

RC18T IMO, you may want to consider a kit, they're more, but you have the satasfaction of knowing you made it/bonding time with your child
