Default Electric Plane Smoke Systems

Hey there, I have recently found a smoke system for electric foamies all the way to huge electrics... I don't know how they work, seeing if anyone has tried them out... Better yet, if anyone has a tried and true way to smoke up these little electrics that would be amazing.

Here's the link :

:: EDIT :: This is the link to info about this smoke system:

The part that is really nice is you light a fuse before you take off and then it will start the smoke after the fuse is done

or you get a AAA battery to produce the charge if you want it done remotely

I would wrap some tape around them, or use some insulator before you mount it to you plane. I know that Jason Knoll did it before on his Eclips F3P indoor bipe, and it came down unburnt.

I will definitely be very cautious... I think I'll just buy 2 smokes and 5 fuses... just in case fuses don't want to work... I'll see how it goes, you can buy a plastic little holder to screw in your fuselage... just gotta watch where that fuse is at. Might just light the fuse, wait for smoke and then quickly take off and use that 4 min of smoke to it's fullest.

I'm thinking someone should hook the smoke up to a combat module

My friend tried this same setup on his Tribute FX 3D foamie. Got the belly a little misformed after a few were burnt. I might suggest some tin foil against the nearest surface to reflect some of the heat. Have a fire extquisher ready just to make sure[:@]

I'm using AX9 (9g) on my foamy Edge, but currently I’m lighting them with a lighter (no fuse). It takes some time to light. I already got the electric fuse, but I don’t have the RC ignition switch yet. Burning time depends on intensity of burning. It is very important to keep smokers in a dry place. Dryer storage means greater burning intensity and shorter burning time. I prefer more smoke in less time.

If I rate this burning I would give it 3 out of 5.
I achieved more intensive smoke on bottom picture where smoking time was 1:20.

I have a video of “bench testing” this smoker and on the video it is clear what happens to depron, if you are not using this smokers correctly. You will see that you don’t need tin foil if you use this correctly. I will upload the video and post a link.

Pretty good smoke cloud. We tried some smoke units on the Clik-X and it just didn't show up well in the bright sun-but it was fun anyway! We used some tin foil just to be sure it didn't melt the newly finished depron. Added 2oz to the AUW with the special plastic holder that was included. MicroDan 2505 didn't even notice the extra weight. One day someone's going to make a "wet" smoke system for electrics-then we'll show those gas guys

That looks real warm, I think I'll pass on the smoke system, I barely can afford the plane as it is... I'm not risking it for some smoke...

If you install smoke cartridge 1in or even a little less from the fuselage and fly during smoker burning your plane is safe. Mine in still unburned after about 15 smokers.

You can ignite the cartridge with a lighter, as you can see in a video few posts above. Besides, you don’t need a second battery to operate remote ignition. You can use [link=http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8833]this switch[/link]
