RE: SAVAGE FLUX HP
I see: Plastic big bores with dual-rate springs, battery trays, a different motor plate, the obvious electric gear, and what looks to be LCG XL type TVP's. Also most likely a single speed trans... I think parts changeability between this and the X will be awsome. Also mabe... A CONVERSION KIT FOR US!?!?[X(] That would be a dream come true.

its an savage X 4.6 RTR, with XL hubs, the battery pack holders, a new radio box maybe tho i don't think so... XL dog bones, it keeps the 2 speed it rock a MG spur over the plastic of the X 4.6, different diff rings, idk if it's a 2 speed i can't tell cuz the batt holders block the holes to tell, but i don't think so, i may be getting a set of those big bores for my savage, other than that, tho doing more thinking, i'm betting that they revised the tranny to work with an E motor without need a brake setup, so idk if its 2 speed any more i don't think so... ahh wells all cool w/me

dude sort your arguments before you write. [8D]
it is pretty sure a one speed fixed tranny so you can brake with the motor and have reverse. everything else is very very unlikely for an electric car.
i hope there will be a "sport"version.

I keep hearing this comment over and over again.
Everyone in the industry rebrands, this is not the first time.
In my opinion they don't have any bad intentions of causing confusion. In fact they want the opposite effect for consumers a full HPI developed platform chassis and electronics. This is a moot point.
This truck rocks! Pull in the schedule HPI and let consumers have this for Christmas.

Why do they insist on renaming all their OEM gear? Why not just call it what it is (like Traxxas and everyone else who uses OEM gear does). It only leads to newbie confusion; irl they're not fooling anyone into thinking it's actually their gear and castle already has a good name when it comes to the parts in question. HPI isn't really a known name when it comes to electronics or motors...

Its true, its just a re labeled MMM. They did this with the e firestorm flux and they even said that it was a sidewinder esc. If its not a sidewinder then why do they say that you can use it with the castle link from CASTLE CREATIONS? because it is a caslte esc.

It defiantly has a single speed transmission because it has no brakes and with the oneway bearing in the 2 speed transmission you wouldn't be able to stop or reverse. Ever tried spinning the spur gear on savage backwards? The truck doesn't move.

If Castle had a bad name in the industry, maybe you'd want to hide it. But they don't. My only point was that we don't need every company who uses OEM stuff thinking up yet another cute name for the same thing.

my comment had a smilie behind it. that usually means something like "do not take this comment too seriously". but you may interpret it otherwise if you like but it wasn't intended to "insult" your "style". it was just your post was written like you were just typing 1:1 the thoughts crossing your mind. ...it keeps the 2speed...maybe not ... this and that...maybe not.
and yes just fyi i own several savages electric conversions and nitros since 2003 and i have followed the savage development very close to.
anyway. concerning the shock design i would have prefered if they put 8 of those plastic big bores on it. shocks just on one side of a flexible shock tower (like the losi conversions) is a bit odd as it tends to bend the shock tower on hard impacts. so a shock on each side is prefereable imo.

but yeah on the shocks, the towers are pretty flexy but i can't see that haveing a huge impact, on the prefomance or durablity of the truck, infact u may bend/break less shafts, cuz inpacts from lets say a standing backflip that didn't work would cause hitting the tower thru the body mounts, i can see that causeing more dammage than the pressure from the shocks, pushing on the towers, but thats just my thoughts...

The e-savage hasnt exactly shown to be the most durable electric out there. But with the new updates hopefully this one will be as tough as its nitro brother, if so it will be a major hit.
I will say the standing back flips are pretty damn cool. Throttle control will be a major deal with this new beast.

RE: SAVAGE FLUX HP
the flux is by no means an "update" of the e zilla/e savage. its a more an electric converison of the nitro savage. basically nothing will be interchangeable between the flux and the e savage.
the flux is just what hpi should have done years ago. like traxxas took the axle of the nitro maxx and added a new chassis/transmission for the e maxx. hpi could have done the same with their savage long ago. i and many others did electric conversions of the gp savage since the savage21 showed up over 5 years ago. however the time is over and its coming now finally from the factory itself.

So the E-savage as it is now is basically an evolutionary dead end?

RE: SAVAGE FLUX HP
Hvae to admit though it was the right move to base this around the Nitro savage. essentially all they really needed to do comparitavely was re-engineer the TVPs, center gearbox, and mounts and radio box. Now I'm not saying that do diminish the level of desing and engineering that needs to go into that to come out with a great product, just pointing out that even more work would need to be done to make the existing E-Sav brushless ready and reliable enough to be a factory supported model, as in addition to all that work, the entire driveline needs to be rethought.
At this point you have to look to specialty vendors to piece together an E-Sav that can handle brushless.
