Thanks for posting, I have had so many good comments about this event I can't believe it. I can't tell you how much fun it was, you'll just have to show up and see for yourself. We are getting more sponsors and prizes as the days go by. Cash donations are already rolling in. You don't have to be the best 3D pilot to fly, everyone gets out there and just does his own thing. We gave pilot prizes out all three days, the sponsors were crazy with donations. This is defenatly the event to put on your 2009 schedule.

Same place as last year. The property where the field is located has been sold to the VA for use as a National Cemetery, but we don't expect, nor does the VA expect, that they will need the field for about 5 years. We are working with the City to relocate the City Park Flying Field to another location, which according to City ordinance is required.

What an awesome time last year. I can only make Friday this year but I'll be there!

What will your rotor head buddies get mad at you if you stay all weekend? You said you were MCing the mic so I could fly? Oh well I guess we will have to find someone else. Saturday we are planning something big, you'll miss out.

Forgot to mention that our concession stand will be open during the event. We always open the concession stand early for coffee, donuts, and sometimes a breakfast of some sort and serve hamburgers and dogs for lunch. I know Jeff has got a dinner planned one night, and if you don't like to cook there is everything from McDonalds, Cross Creek (Steaks / great burgers), Subways, Larry's Giant Sub's, and Mexican food not too far from the field...or what I have learned "down the road a piece"....
If you drive an RV and want to have hook-up's with cable TV, there is a NICE RV Park right at Hwy 295 at Lem Turner. Your welcome to drop your trailer off at the field and then rough it at the RV park. Normally Jeff has his RV at the event and has some night activities thats worth hanging around. Night flying at the field is ok, but we want to be a good neighbor and fly electric at night only.
If you want to overnight it in a motel, we will have information, maybe a discounted hotel, listed on our website as we get closer to the event. If you look close at one of the pic's you will find that at the FX3D-2008 they went for a record hover....Don't think you have to 3D to fly at this event. Lots of guys just flying their birds and enjoying a great time.
