Steven:

Gotta be something wrong with your PM account. I responded the very hour I received it. I will find my answer and send to you again.
Also, you may feel free to post in the Jet Engine Forum and I will address publically.

Mark I’m going for the twin, fitting a pair of 160s of some sort make not decided as yet. Mine will have TV but will stay inhibited for the first few flights.

Incidentally it will be interesting to compare the difference between this and the Fei Boa 1:7 F15E as there is a bit of gap in the price. One is 68inch span, the other is 74inch span so neither of them are 1:7th scale LOL

We will be able to fly them in formation at Bickley jets if you get yours finished, or if you do get it finished you’ll probably sell it. LOL

m
F-15E

Length = 63.8 feet or 19.4 m
Wingspan 42.8 feet or 13.05 m
Height 18.5 feet 05 5.63m

1/7 scale

Length = 109.37 inches
Wingspan = 73.37 inches
height = 32.71 inches

FeiBao is 109, 74
FEJ is 109, 68

Gee why doesn't it surprise me FEJ wingspan is off by 5+ inches?????

FeiBao is basically dead on scale to within a fraction of an inche. Why doesn't that surprise me???

My dad heard there was a shipment on Friday. Asked whether his was with this batch, but it is still being made. This is the same as when asked beginning December.
Nice considering he paid for it in October!

Mark,

I guess I was just looking at the tiger paint scheme and assumed they where the same but after looking at the dimensions of each, now I know. However, as it seems that the Feibao is relatively close in scale to the wing size, both are way off in fuse length, which should be roughly 119 1/2" unless they are measuring to a different area. Curious as to which one is of the better quality

1/1
Length = 69'9" measured from nose to trailing edge of stabilators
Wingspan = 42'10" measured wingtip to wingtip
Height = 18'8" measured ground to top of canopy

I believe the fuselage length at approx 109 inches is correct. I would guess if the model is measured to trailing edge of stabilator will be approx 119 inches. If you look at both Avonds and yellows F-15s the length is dead on for the scale based on the figures I found.

Data from USAF fact sheet,[1] Davies[49]

General characteristics

Crew: 2
Length: 63.8 ft (19.4 m)
Wingspan: 42.8 ft (13.05 m)
Height: 18.5 ft (5.63 m)
Wing area: 608 ft² (56.5 m²)
Airfoil: NACA 64A006.6 root, NACA 64A203 tip
Empty weight: 31,700 lb (14,300 kg)
Max takeoff weight: 81,000 lb (36,700 kg)
Powerplant: 2× Pratt & Whitney F100-229 afterburning turbofans, 29,000 lbf (129 kN) each

Specifications from Fly Eagle site, just wondered why 109" was mentioned as the length?

http://www.flyeaglejet.com/

Flyeaglejet ARF F-15E 1:7 Scale

Length: 107" (2730mm)
Wingspan: 68' (1720mm)
Power: 36~45Lb (16~20kg) thrust
Radio: min. 8 ~ 12 Servos required

I was incorrect earlier. According to Boeing these are the specs of the F-15E on following web page

http://www.boeing.com/defense-space/...5k/f15spec.htm

They match closely the ones I posted and I was wrong when assuming the fuse length was 109 inches. that is the length to end of stabilator. Not sure where you got 119 inches.

The FeiBai is dead on.

The FEJ is out to lunch on the wingspan

You are correct about FEJ being 107. So it is 2 inches short and 5 inches off on length. Maybe it is not quite a 1/7 scale. That is not unusual.

F-15E strike eagle . com was where I got my numbers from, the 3-view stated 69'9" which was what I went by,but now looking at the printed text it states 63'9" other sites I went to stated 69'9" so that is what I thought was correct. My apologies! Gregr

Information is so different everywhere for these planes it gets confusing. Unless two of us got out there with a fracking tape measure as far as we know they could ALL be wrong.

I just want the F-15E i payed for before I turn totally gray or forget that I even ordered one.

Gents,

there is a mistake on the FEJ site .....
the wingspan is 72.835 " (1850mm)

lenght is 108.268 " (2750mm) with Elevators installed

thats a exact scale from 1 : 7,0500

we are sorry that we lost that 0.05 in scale, for that mistake and for the following discussions .....

Bill & Eric,

I'll be following right along with you! Mine will have twin Rhinos though. I think the F-15's got shipped today. I hope!

Eric, I'll be sending the Rhinos to the factory for matching next week!

OK OK OK...this thread is completely titled wrong. It should read: FEJ F-15 1/7th being built by Bill while Eric gets in the way".

Yep...that would be a more valid statement!

Bevar, he is good at handing me tools sometimes. He does sometimes come up with some good ideas. I have a list of his Ideas on a note pad in the shop. I will be building my FEJ F-18 at the same time so my shop will be full.
