If you are looking for 8013t we have steel here;

http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=2985

Be advised that steel will transfer shock to other parts of your drive line if something else goes wrong.(example grit and small stones wedged in wheels causing them to lock up.)

Gear mesh help here;

Default RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

Hello Everyone, I just received a volcano sv for christmas and I am trying to get it set up for the break in period. Right now I am trying to get the proper gap between the clutch bell and the spur gear. I tried the paper method, but it would not roll freely afterwords. So I am assuming that it is to tight. So my question is: Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to get the proper clearence between them, and how freely should it roll? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

it should roll smoothly. Just loosen up your motor mount screws, pull the motor back, then gently push them togeter. Tighten down a couple screws so it doesnt move and then run the paper through. if it crinkles it is good, as long as the clutchbell and spur gear still feel smooth when they spin. Then tighten down all of your screws, if it's not right the first time either move it back or closer.

depend on what you got sv stock probably does around 30, my upgraded sv with a direct drive, a tuned pipe and a couple of other things does mid to high 30's, the two speed will push 40, and i'm not sure about the pro.

But, how 40? If they said that 2 speed transmission sucks and is better single speed transmission which makes more power.

From what I have learned it really depends on how you are using it. Racing or bashing? My VX.18 gets my truck to 34mph with minor upgrades.(Thats what Officer Dave clocked it at) Its got like 20 gears in the tranny. I have the single speed tranny to put in it, Im waiting to break the one in it now. Im also pretty sure it comes down to gearing too.

you don't want to , and i don't know if there is a transmission with reverse that will fit into the volcano without mods.
Reverse is pretty much just an extra hassle to worry about, and when would you actually REALLY need it

I got a Volcano for Christmas last year and the thing ran great for four months until my wife drove it and broke the pull start off of it. So I just got me one of the electric starter kits for it and put it all together but now the motor will not start. Any suggestions would help.

did you put after run oil in it before you stored it away, and was all the gas drained out?

Yes I used after run oil and did drain the fuel. I was wondering if old fuel would cause this?

that could be it too, but did you check your glow plug to make sure that was working sufficiently?
it might also be that you didn't get the electric start together correctly?

Howdy, the volcano used a 12mm hex hub so any wheel that uses a 12mm hex are good... I personally like the pro-line agitator (rear) wheels. I have them mounted on my volcano with masher 2000 tires and it rocks... and no rubbing... I wouldn't go bigger than a 5 and a 1/2 inch tall wheel unless you get wheel extensions also... Good luck - you can find the agitator rear rims fairly cheap on ebay and you can use any 2.2 type tire with them.

No problem. The pro-line rims are plenty tough, and they made the agitator rim 40% more durable a while back. You CAN get aluminum rims but they cost an arm and a leg... the cheapest place I have found for any type of wheels or tires is ebay, do a 'title and description search' for 12mm wheels in the RC section. Or you can bite the bullet and get 12mm to 14mm wheel extension/adapters and mount 14mm wheels. You still can't run huge tires though, unless you do like me and put in a two speed tranny matched with an HPI 13 / 18 tooth STEEL clutch bell. If you really want a nice Volcano, get some T-MAXX shocks while you're at it (not the XXL or extra longs). They are just a little longer than stock Volcano shocks but fit nicely.
