RE: Good Pipe for stock savage x 4.6
I put an 053 Pipe on there with a buggy header. I also have a 16/47 CB/SG setup in this [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bcruuvH8UM]video!![/link]
I have never tried an 086 pipe on the 4.6 motor. Maybe someone can pipe in with their experience.

You seem very ignorant to the people that already replied to your questions...
Two GREAT pipe names have just been given to you along with a video link; the least you can do is give some effort and research the pipes.

prjctstrtfrc,
Well since he asked what the difference between the 083 and 053 pipes are and no one has responded he found a link to one of the ones that was recommended. I dont think he is ignorant. He is pretty new to this so its understandable he has so many questions. So if you have the answer to his question or know where to point him to find out what the differences are I think your comment is unjustified.

i have no experience with either of the pipes but i am trying to decide which to put on a 4.6 too. i am leaning toward the Dynamite053 because of my driving style.
from what i have heard, the 086 is a topside high speed pipe; and the 053 is for the low end torque. Not sure about he headers though.

People run them all the time on the Savage but the way I have my Savage set up those pipes will not fit up properly as they are made for left hand exhaust. I have never run those pipes but from what I have read the 053 is a low end pipe and the 083 is a top end pipe. I run the LST 2 HT pipe as it is set perfect for a Savage.

the stock plastic pipe is acutally a great pipe for that engine. it is better than the hpi ribbed pipe. for better power, add that cone thing that came with it. i added mine and got a nice power boost and knocked off a decibel or two. even with a pig rich tune, my f4.6 will wheelie like there's no tomorrow. i only have an upgraded cooling head and a on-board temp guage on it right now. the rest is bone stock. my next upgrade is the wheelie bar. i have been too occupied with my baja 5b clone to fix my savage lately but i will fix it this week sometime. i'm craving the smell of nitro. weed wacker smell gets a little old after a while.[&:]
i still need a fuel tank and an engine plate. tower hobbies only has the older, 2mm engine plate. i am looking for the one that comes stock. (2.5mm)
my savage is tough but a 20ft+ high jump and landing up-side down will break ANY rc truck. the only parts i have broken have been on pavement. backflips breaking dogbones, the 20ft+ fall.

I understand that he is knew, but if everyone was always pampered when being new, then they would never get the gist of how to "survive on their own" type of thing. (I was definitely a little bit of both on quite a few different forums, and quickly learned [8D])
"Tuff Love," if you will.

This pipe will fit and it is your best bet. The header will rub the spring a little bit but it does not effect anything as far as I can tell. With the pressure nipple facing the chassis it does not hurt anything and does not make it harder to install.

I actually just received my Losi HT pipe from ebay, got it for $19 shipped, figured i'd give it a try. The manifold that it comes with does not fit the savage so I also ordered the Losi 8ight 180 degree manifold for $17 shipped, i've got the extended TVP's so it will fit, the header is also the same mat black as the pipe so it will match

RE: Good Pipe for stock savage x 4.6
That pipe fit my savage, should I take pictures?
The only issue that I currently have is that I have switched out my f4.6 for a Picco .27, and that is currently also running on the 053 pipe. That is all going to change soon!! I have a 086 begging to go on there.
Like I said before it does rub the spring gently, and I have not seen any damage to the spring as of 2 gallons or so ago!

Installing a OFNA 086 on my Savage X with a Picco Boost .28 and trying to figure the best way to to mount it. I would greatly appreciate any pics showing your 086 install on the right side...thanks in advance.
