Default Weedie motor

Fellas,
does anyone know what brand motors WeedEater brand uses?
I have one here that is very low hours that i'd like to convert. It's a 25cc motor. Be perfect for a scale cub or something.
Thanks!
Craig

A caged needle bearing on the con rod big end? Cool. The piston must be about the same diameter as the piston.

every weedie or chainsaw engine I've taken apart so far has had a caged needle bearing on both ends so far, but they've been homelites, poulans, McCulloch and Ryobi's and nothing super old yet (have some, just haven't taken them apart)

most of the poulan 18/21/24/25cc engines I've seen have mufflers that aren't crimped like that one is, which is handy for taking them apart and pulling all of the plates out of...

just for the sake of mentioning it, the piston/jug assembly from any of the 18/21/24/25cc engines will interchange, I don't know if that goes for both the 2 and 4 bolt backplate engines (I only have 4 bolt backplate engines), but so far I've put a 24cc piston/jug on a 18cc crankcase and it fit perfectly, crank pin and everything.

I haven't taken apart any of the other size poulans, but the exhaust timing on the 18cc and 24cc are pretty small and could use some massaging

That looks just like my 21cc, with the spring on muffler and two bolt head. I've got mine running gas/glow and get 7200rpm on an APC 17x6, the engine weighed in at 32oz with the factory steel muffler. Here's some pics.

I have one that I believe is a 25cc on electronic ignition mounted in a Dynaflite SE5a. Have only one flight so far but more than enough power with a Top Flite 15x8. Just switched to an APC 16x8 and it seems to swing it great. Engine starts easily and runs great. Hope to get it back in the air this weekend. With one of the cheap XYZ ignitions, this makes a great conversion engine. I am running the stock muffler but gutted it out and cut two 1/2 in holes in the top to open it up. With the 16x8 it should be crazy power for this airplane.

It's not GLOW, it's GAS/GLOW which is 1 part 10%nitro/10%oil glow fuel mixed with 2 parts premium gasoline, get rid of the mag, coil and sparkplug and use a zenoah gas/glow adapter and an OS F four stroke glow plug, that's it. Engine runs good and i get some pretty good #'s out of it, engine was light enough that it was originally mounted on a .40 sized trainer.
