RE: LST XXL release pushed back
When was the initial release date? For the last couple of months, when I started looking at it... I thought it was always March or has it been pushed back past March? Just read a short review in a magazine. My wife REALLY wants one and can't wait for it to come out.

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
The LST2's been out since the end of 2005.....(Nov or Dec.....Can't remember......I got mine in Dec just before for X mas)
The XXL is pretty much the LST2 with a New Engine/Radio/Body/Wheels/Longer Chassis & the Tranny's Re-geared for Top end..... without Hi/Low Range....

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
The LST2 IS still the best MT out there, the XXL is just the Up-dated Version (As the LST2 is the Up-dated Version of the LST)
As far as what Truck to gets is a No brainer......The XXL.......

I don't know - the XXL is probably gonna be really expensive. And the LST2 on the flip-side is going down in price..
I would get an LST2 (and am even considering it, even though I don't need it.. But the price here in Germany with DX3.0 is sssooooo tempting..)..
What's cool about this upgrade is that, if you have an LST2 and want to go to XXL, you don't nee THAT many partss.. (I think...)
And yes, the LST2 is still the best IMO..
They both have hideous stock bodies.....

XXL is $649.99 at A-main (Not to Bad given the Radio is worth 250 of that), The LST2 is No Longer on there site (They where Selling them for $479) and I haven't seen them In Stock at Many On-line Shop for a Few Weeks now???? (Starting to think the LST2 will be Discontinued once the XXL is out)

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
The LST2 is going for €399 here with a DX3.0. I paid €570 for mine like two years ago.. - and that was the best deal I could find. Normal was €599 and up for a long time.. I just know the XXL is gonna be in the €600 neighborhood or more...
Sssoo tempted to get the LST2, even though I don't need it.. Just such a deal...

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
I hope they keep the LST2. For $480 it is a heck of a deal. Not much out there you can buy new for $480 that competes truck wise, let alone with the Tx/Rx that comes with it. Even if you say machine wise they equal another truck in that price range the radio is a big step above a lot of the other RTR radios out there. Synthesized Fm may not be the cream of the crop today but it certainly is a lot nicer than a TQ3 or such. When you look at the Savage line they have both the X and the XL still being made. If the XXL LST is basically a bigger LST2 then I hope they follow HPI's trend and keep the LST2 around as a smaller, less expensive model. It may not be their flagship truck anymore but it certainly is one heck of a truck, especially for $480 with the XS3 radio.

Yea I cant find that deal anywhere though. If I could find one for that price I would do it in a heartbeat.. But not for a 50 dif for the XXL and LST2 it makes sense to wait for the XXL especially if its faster...

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
the xxl doesn's come stock with metal diff cases like the lst2 and there are a fre other places where they downgraded. i don't know if plastic shocks are considered a downgrade as some say they are better in some ways.

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
I went at my LHS this week and talk a bit to the guy there about the LST2.
He told me it is discontinued. He cannot order no more. He has none in stock. Losi are done with them.
Thats too bad.
He told me he should get the XXL by mid-march.
Maybe Losi will get a beefed-up AFT2 out??? somewhere between the current AFT and LST2?
Something like a LST2 w/o reverse, no hi/low, no DX3, but with Alu shocks and 8mm axle and stronger A arms and the LST2 2 speed setup...???
Thats a personnal thought. Never heard nothing about that. Just dreaming i guess....

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
Why would you buy the LST XXL after buying the LST2? Just buy the different parts, like main chassis plate, siderails and a few more things (body) and you'll have a LST XXL. The LST XXL is just an extended LST2.

What about parts for the Lst 2? Are they going to still make parts for this truck? So we all can keep them running.
Or is the XXL just longer with all of the same parts?

RE: LST XXL release pushed back
My XXL is coming on Friday! If anyone wants one, I can do $600 plus shipping
Few questions.
1. Why would they downgrade the shocks? They put the Aftershock shocks on the XXL. The Aluminum body shocks are now 'optional.'
2. Are the servo's the same? I see they are gray now. Did JR just change their casing, or are they upgraded?
3. How extended is the chassis? Is it longer in the front or rear or both?
4. How will the 454 hold up? Should I upgrade it? How many of the parts fit the 427? I figure I can just part it on eBay and buy an LRP or Picco....?
5. What parts are weak out of the box that I should upgrade asap. I like replacing stuff new, so I can resell for full value.
If I can get a Muggy for $400 and an Aftershock for $300, is the XXL the best choice? P.S. - I am a basher...
