Default Compensator color scheme

Hi. Does anyone have a color picture of Rhett Millers original Compensator. I'm just about ready to cover mine from the Eureka short kit and would like to duplicate the color scheme. Thanks, Jim

That's a Gator Flea, did he use the same colors on the Compensator?

No, that's the Compensator. Yes, he used the same color scheme on the Gator Flea. I flew both the Compensator and the Gator Flea when they were available as kits back in the late '70's, early '80's.

Oops! I thought the Compensator was a bigger bird. Thanks for the correction!

Jimmy, be very careful! There are curves on that color scheme! Bring it out and I'll give you a hand!
Just kidding Jimmy, you are the undisputed King Of Monocte!!

Here are (2) additional photos that I found on my computer, they are not in color, but you should be able to get a good idea of what color is what from my original reply. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the pics. I'm building mine with a built up wing, trying to get it as light as possible. I'm shooting for 5.5LBS with an OS55AX for power. Jim

HI Jim, I sure wish Pete was still here to help us. Didn't we all learn to monokote from him? Best Regards, Reeves.

Looks like Rhett switched from an upright to a side mounted engine at some point.

I saved a Webra ad from the old days featuring Rhett holding his Compensator. The caption said something about it being his second Nats win. If I had a scanner, I'd post the ad.

Thanks Ray. That's it alright. I decided to scrapbook that ad as a kid. It must have made an impression on me.
