How is the Hyper7 TQ black edition .21????
I just got it in the mail the 2008 Ofna Hyper7 TQ Black edition .21 and can't run it for a week or so till i go over it and check for threadlock and such and get my Lipo for the electronis, It has the Ofna Hyper .21 engine in it and seems to look dang near bullitproof. Does anyone on the site have one? I hope I bought a good buggy, I used to own a Losi 8ight and had some bad luck and was told to look into the Hyper buggies and I must say that i'm impressed! ANODIZED Alloy chassis and shock towers, alloy shocks, you name it. I have seen people run this buggy stock in the intermediate class and do very well. I bought it to bash mostley and the occational race. I couldn't pass it up for 250 dollars O.T.D. Brand New. It was less than a Ultra LX One (which was my other choice) Anything I should upgrade or do to it before going out? Anything to watch for?

I think you are in good shape. The common recommendation is to get a 6V receiver pack and dump the alkalines, get a better steering servo and just tear it up. I am a huge Hyper 7 fan. Great choice!

Got a metal gear futaba servo today and a 6v receiver pack will be here friday. So the rest of the buggy can handle abuse? How the the .21? I am coming from the losi mach 427. Is the .21 really slow compaired to the 427? I have an axial .28 NIB extra from an old truggy, I wander if i should swap them

That .21 will do fine. Buggies are so dang light. Hyper .21s are solid mills. I run them with 0 issues. It sounds like you are ready to rock with the pack and servo. Start with the Hyper 21 and then if you get bored maybe consider changing out.

I bought a new Axial .28 in my Hyper 7 that I'm currently breaking in and that thing is the Ford-Excursion of nitro engines!
Highly Recommend this engine, its the best engine that money can buy!

I think all you need is the 8 port sleeve to change it to a Hyper .21 8 port engine. I am not sure but I think the piston and the case are the same in the 3 port and 8 port engines.

I'm fairly sure you can swap out the cylinder. You certainly could in the older hyper engines.
Its a good buggy and the ONLY sensible choice at that money. They have been around for a while but still cut it at anything other than the top level. They are also incredibly tough and rugged.
PS the 8 port is considerably faster, especially at top end. The bottom end is a little lacking compared with more expensive engines but you would have to spend double the money to get a better all round engine. If you are used to 2 needle carbs tho, don't mess with the mid speed needle.
