Racing Tips for Monster Trucks?
I was just wondering if anyone here has experience racing monster trucks, and if they had any tips they wanted to share with me and the rest of the newer racers.
I personally know I need help around corners, I heard that people actually throttle through the corners, but that doesn't seem possible with a Monster Truck.
Any driving tips are good tips, so if there's anything you want to share let us know.

depends on your setup... I like to come into a corner hard and tap the brake to get it to turn then hard on the throttle out. If you have a good servo you can "whip" it around pretty easy.

What kind of servo you recommend? I can get this off ebay:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ89&P=ML
Is that a good servo for the T-Maxx 3.3?

RE: Racing Tips for Monster Trucks?
I'm seriously considering the HPI servo... Are there any other suggestions though? The torque is much better on the HPI one as well, plus... It's going to be shipped from the same state
Also, I need a hump pack battery pack for my reciever. If I want to power the servo to its potential I'm going to need a battery that can give more voltage. Any suggestions on a cheap battery pack? I'm using rechargable AA's right now
What's up with these? Very cheap and only a little less powerful than the HPI one...

These guys make the best packs i've seen.
High mah... some over 13 hours of runtime.
I wouldn't buy a high torque servo for 10 bucks. They are also slower then the other one I listed. (don't know how many inch oz's 11 kg is)

Thats what I was saying about it. don't know how long they'll last.
The futuba is a damn good servo... don't need anymore power or speed then that but it'll cost you 100 bucks. Also if your going to spend that much money check out this servo... little less speed but more torque. http://www.carolinasrc.com/Webstore/...idProduct=1030

I'm trying to spend less than $40 on the servo really... trying not to spend much on upgrades just yet. I've got 1:1 scale car to worry about spending money on right now

90% driver ability.....the other 10% is how your rig is set up.
A-Arms level with ground.....right tires for the track.........properly tuned engine....keep everything plastic.....practice......practice....practice.... ..and then more practice.

Check out the Hitec 5645, not as fast as some of the others but Ive never had a problem with turning. I think its the closest thing youll find to your budet that will get you through racing season. Ive had 2 for steering for more than a year and they work great.

RE: Racing Tips for Monster Trucks?
I've been looking everywhere for a dirt place to practice at, someplace I can make sharp turns like at the track.
The track is 30 miles away, but the road is 65mph there, and I drive 75-80 usually so I get there in 15 minutes. Not that bad of a trip. Cost about 5 bucks gas to get there, 5 bucks for the ride home and I get a little left over gas. So it's not that bad

Take out the shock spacers you have on then. They're the black things at the top of your shocks that have little nubs that you can grab with pliers to pull off.
Are you using stock shocks still?

You can adjust the springs on the revo by rotating the nut around the shock until it's looser. Next step is replacing the rockers if it's still not low as you want it.
