RE: hpi SAVAGE FLUX ESC CATCHES FIRE out of box
Dude ...No offense....But your first and only prototype CAUGHT ON FIRE....do you really think this is the market place for your handy work?...and If you are using a lathe to make these...I am picturing a Victorian style staircase with a battery strapped to the side of it.
shoot some pics of anything that you have done with regards to this, and that may haisen the ney sayers a bit.
personally I don't care what the outcome is....I just hate to see a fight

I don't see why you are all so skeptical, Ilikestuff 2 never claimed to have any great handywork which you are all giving him a hard time for. Like I said, you don'y have to use the FLUX mounts, and that would be the only thing that would make the mod complicated.
I look forward to seeing your pics. I made an XL size "flux" as well (albeit i have castle branded electronics, not hpi), and would like to compare it with how you did yours.

I agree... why would the guy lie about his truck catching fire? Can't the flux guys just accept that there might have been a bad esc?

No I haven't had any issues with my Flux at all other than many failed attempts at keeping it on the tires. LOL.
In all seriousness though, it is nice to see HPI standing behind their product. They are a class act all the way. In no way would I condemn the MMM setup over this one instance of a failure.

LOL, what pie did he put on some faces.....he, he, he. I've gotten the same critic type of stuff from people saying that I couldn't put a .21 big block in a 1/10th scale car and let alone put Kawahara 40mm tires on the car and still use a 200mm body...............well what they don't know is that I work with a $100K worth of CNC machines, lathes and all sorts of equipment and made everything that I was told wouldn't work indeed work very well.
ilikestuff_2.....I like your converted XL and thanks for the pics to show that you did do the conversion so now some can stop questioning you about doing a brushless XL when it was said that it couldn't be done, no way, no how or they woulda did it blah, blah, blah.

He also forgot that on this forum we know a little about the trucks we own. If an XL Flux could have been done it would have been done by me a long time ago. As I see it, it is only possible if you were to back-half a second Flux set of tvps and figure a way to bolt it to the main TVPs and then make spacers to attach the rear lower cross member, and where the rear diff screws/ snaps into place. In other words, it aint happening.
The other method would be to cut the XL chassis toward the rear middle and cut the rear of the flux TVPs and bolt on the flux rear upper part that you hacked off. I guess that method would work but it would be ugly even if someone skilled did it. I also think the FLUX has a lower COG then the other Savage chassis if you take a look at the bottom of the chassis. The Flux TVPs also are straight on the bottom to protect bottom impacts that would other wise hit the battery boxes if designed like the other Savages.
All I know is that I smelled this guy's feces from the first time I read his post when my first post requested pictures. The internet really brings out the losers.

RE: hpi SAVAGE FLUX ESC CATCHES FIRE out of box
This thread got way out of control. This thread has required more moderation then it should. I am glad ilikestuff_2 got his truck back and was able to take some pictures. I hope this one doesn't go up in smoke. If any more back and forth unrelated discussions spawn I will have to shut the thread down.

I don't think it was that people didn't believe him. As it was everytime people asked to see pics of the carnage from the esc fire, he wouldn't post them.
