Izzy
Flies really great - like a mini FAI F3D. Highly recommeded.
The long wing makes it very stable and it turns well.
Modifications include 1/4"firewall, backplate engine mount, Tru Turn spinner, Hayes tank, shortened landing gear and bigger diameter wheels.
The metal used for the landing gear is very soft.

I have one, not looking to sell low though. Close to RTF with new JETT 35LX BSE F.I.R.E. tightly crafted into the airframe for drag reduction, all digi/minis, etc.
If Someone really wants the plane, speak up.

I think someone was talking about a group buy at some point. I sure hope this plane is built better than the LR1. The LR1 had a very weak wing layup...

RE: Ashley II Q25?
I was talking about the group buy. It looks like they have gone up 45% on their price. This is the current quote I received from the Factory.
I was quoted $1002 the last time I contacted the factory. That was about $250 per plane to the U.S. The price of shipping was $490 and now it is $500, so it is the price of the goods that went up.
If any one really wants these and four of you can get the money together, it is completely doable. I cannot afford $360 for one of these at this time. that is a 44.7% increase. I guess they can afford to sell them at this price, since the global economy is thriving. The must of had to increase thier prices since that global shortage of Epoxy and glass cloth. It could of been the high paid labor over their too.
Julian over and out!
I have received a quotation from the factory in Thailand as follows:
4 x Miss Ashley Models @ US$230 each = US$920
1 x Airfreight (TNT Couriers) to Bedford, TX @ US$530
TOTAL US$1,450 (which equates to about US$360 each)

From "Z06KAL" "I sure hope this plane is built better than the LR1. The LR1 had a very weak wing layup.'
Nope, it is not built significantly "better" soo what I do with the "Xtreme Comp" lowliners, to negate the wing inErgrity problem; for the only two offered so far whether you are talking about the "Ashley 2" or the "LR-1"...
Is that I laminate a simple strip of glass span-wise across/around the L.E. (Right out there on the outside) .... to prevent the L.E. from splitting from torsional forces imposed by the landing gear....
Call them turbulator strips if you must...

One Ashley II from Finland.
Engine: West 36 V2
Pipe: custom made by Weston
Landing gear: self made, laminated carbon
Wheels: Jett
It was really a big task to put everything inside, the fuselage is so small!
Model itself is very compact and beautiful. Flies well.
I have only elevator and ailerons - works well.
