RE: Prince 25" Mono
Can you move that cooling can back some to gain a little more lowering on the motor front.? It does not to be that far forward to work. Yes, you are in tight qtrs and that servo mount plate is a problem without tearing it out.

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Hi Basstronics.
From what I can see there are two reasons for the misalignment.
1) If you look closely at your second pic, the face of the motor is not flush on the motor mount. There is a gap at the bottom.
Either the cooling can is hitting the bottom of the hull or there is a fillet of resin or glue at the bottom of the mount where it contacts the hull & the motor is hitting that.
This change in angle of the motor, slight as it may be, is causing the end of the coupler to be lower creating the sharp kink on the flex.
2)The coupler is longer than your original leaving leaving less gap between the end of the coupler & the stuffing tube & compounding the above problem.
Before you start chopping anything out give this a try.
Cut a piece of 1/4" aluminium to size & make a spacer between the mount & motor by drilling out the centre hole & mounting holes. Plywood will do if you have no aluminium. Make sure it sits flush on the mount all over. Drill the holes slightly oversize to allow some adjustment. You can even slot the holes up in the mount a bit if required for a bit of extra adjustment.
This will move the motor forward & up slightly to clear the hull & allow it to sit flush on the mount at the right angle bringing the end of the coupling into line with the flex. Hopefully.
All the best.
Paul.

I run on 2S Jan.
I run on 2S Jan.
I'm not sure you've chosen the right motor for 2S; 17000rpm at the prop isn't much and using a bigger prop will cause torque issues...
In my 2S boats I run a 3600KV motor (TR 28-45 3600), too small for a 25" hull, I agree, but hobbycity has them in a larger diameter too.
This one will give you 29000+ rpm on 2S at the prop:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner
But the Ampdraw is high...
I'd try Paul's spacer idea, might work out well.
Regards, Jan.

Evidently over the winter one of my packs died. One cell went out...
So now I only have 1 batt and I run with two.
Som Im down and out until I can buy about 4 batteries. I also got batteries for 4 other boats to buy, so I will jsut do it all at once... If I can afford it

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Ok so Iv been waiting on my buddy to clear coat the hull, I finally picked it up today and all I can say is sweet. The paint turned out nice and its all coming together well..here are some pictures of what all done so far. should be done late tonight, Iv still got to align the motor mount up and let the resin set awhile.

That looks damn sweet.
What size is that prop, it looks a bit much for the Ammo. The biggest prop I use is an X640. These motors like to rev, they aren't a very high torque motor.
Check out the props Ossie crawl uses. His boat is a bit of a rocket on them.
Just a thought.

RE: Prince 25" Mono
i agree the ammos like a x440 or 640 max. the data i posted in #631 was a x642 detounged but i only ran acouple of laps, amp draw was up 25 amps from a x440, watts was just over 1000, so a bit to much prop
i detounge my props but if you get a m series prop it is the same as the x series but with out the tounge

S!N!ST3R your boat is looking good now
if you are running 4 cells will you be able to get the batterys down each side of the motor ?.... if you put a 4s pack in front of the motor your C of G will be well out and far to much weight at the front ,

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Well, it looks like I'm going to run 2x 25C 2500mAh 3s 11.1v in parallel. What brand batteries have you all found to work well and last? Also where is the best place to get them? Also what charger should I get? I will be using my boat strictly for recreation. For now I'm running my 380motor that came with the boat but will upgrade at some point.
Thanks, Aaron

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Thats the problem Im at right now. Iv got the batterys wrapted up front and the C-G Is way off lol.
I bought some 7.4v Flight power batterys that are really skinny, it should work. But thanks for the good
comment, I think with a diffrent prop and batterys set it should fly![X(]

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Thank ozzie for the heads up. I'm not going to change the motor mount so if you have a suggestion for what will fit with my current 380 motor that would be great. Anyone have any info on a brand of battery and a charger?

RE: Prince 25" Mono
FOR SALE: 25" mono from Hong Kong. It is all put together and ready to run w/ custom paint. NEVER BEEN USED. All you need is battery and radio. It comes with a water cooled 70amp ESC and a water cooled 380 in-runner motor w/ water cooled engine mount. I just simply don't have time for it like I thought I would. First $140.00 plus shipping takes it. If your interested send me a private or e-mail at [email protected]. If I can't get a picture on this to work, I posted one back on p23 of this post. You can also e-mail and I will send more. Aaron

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Aaron. Got your email. I'm afraid I need another boat like a fish needs a bicycle. I do like that paint job though.
Perhaps you should post it in the 'Buy & Sell' section on this site. It's on the banner at the top of this page next to 'Forums'. I'm sure someone will snap it up.
That will broaden your market to a possible 400,000 people.
Best of luck.
Paul.

RE: Prince 25" Mono
Thanks Paul. I put an ad in so we will hope for the best. I had a lot of fun putting it together this past winter and wish things were different so I could keep it to give it a run at the lake. Aaron
