RE: eagle 50 helicopter
Im still waiting on someone to please post more info on rebuilding information, unless i dotn need it. what im trying to figure out is the exact factory sizes of the ball links. i bought a nice digital caliper and want to set them ALl with the caliper. When you rebuild any heli, do you mostly go by the balance of the rotor head ? or by the exact specs from the manufacturer.??
thanks guys.
btw so far no problem with motor.. but its weird that the brushless upgrades were available once on xheli. and they dont sell them anymore.

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
New to helis and got an Eagle 50 for Christmas. Just got around to it and having trouble before getting off the ground. Not sure if I have defective part or incorrect adjustment or ??? but:
As I increase throttle / collective to near liftoff then add a bit more throttle / collective the two halves of the swash plate pull apart. Then the upper half slides up and the rotor goes into full down pitch.
I don't see a way to adjust the links anywhere near enough to compensate. Do I have a faulty swashplate or maybe something wasn't assembled / adjusted properly at the factory?
Would it be possible the discs on the servos were installed "a tooth off" or similar?
TIA
Kevin

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
only thing i can guess at is the servos are not adjusted right, how far off center are the adjusters?
next would be check the collar with the allen key on the main shaft, it may have slipped a bit..
how closed is it to lifting off?

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
Collars seem fine and tight though I don't have a spec to work from about where they go.
I think I'm leaning toward pulling the bell cranks off the servos and see if I can clock them to a different position.
2 of the 3 links from the servos to the swashplate were all the way shortened and that seems about right from an overall trim adjustment setup.
All three appear too short and there's not nearly enough adjustment in the links for the amount of pitch control I'm off.
So much for being "test flown at the factory"
It literally starts to get light on the training balls and I can get it to slide around using the cyclic but adding just a touch more throttle / pitch and the swashplate pulls apart. Maybe the upper links are too short?

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
I can probably create a vid though it will have to wait until next weekend. The trim is pretty centered but even full trim throw one way or the other isn't nearly enough to compensate for the issue. The swashplate pulls apart around half throttle and at full throttle / pitch there's about .25" or so between the two halves of the swashplate.
I'll attempt some pictures or video next weekend.
Thanks for your input so far.

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
Well, the swashplate has 4 parts, a small bushing in the upper plate, a larger "bearing" in the lower plate and the two "plates." The upper plate has links to the upper part of the head, the lower plate has links from the servos. The upper plate spins with the rotor, the lower doesn't spin but is tilted, or raised or lowered by the servos. The two plates pull apart when the servos pull down (which is increasing rotor pitch) more than about half throttle / pitch on the tx.
I know, probably clear as mud!!
Tnx

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
just got my eagle 50 in less than a month,I flewwith it and crashed. after changing the part and adjustement i could fly. But the thing is when i turn on the transmitter then plug in the battery on heli, it wont synchronize. Ihave to do the reverse which is plugging the battery on heli then turn on the transimitter And even that, it's not always synchronized. I have to unplug and replug the battery again when it doesnt synchronize. Is my receiver is having problem?

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
when you sync the radio and receiver you must turn on the radio first. Then lower the left joystick down all the way and the speed trim needs to be done as well. Then connect the battery to the heli and wait 5 seconds. If sync doesn't work all ways then please remove both crystals from the radio and receiver, turn it around and re insert it.

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
The crystals from the radio is located on the back of the radio. You see a tap that has 72.xxx mhz on it? remove that take and you'll see the crystal. Same on the receiver.

Where are the crystals located? or what exactly is it?

RE: eagle 50 helicopter
I just got an Exceed Eagle 50 with the 2.4 hz transmitter, are there any adjustments that will make it hover a little better. Also, i would like a little more explanation about the use of the 2 knobs (V2 and V1) on the front of the transmitter than the manual has.
#49
RE: eagle 50 helicopter
V1 and v2 are knobs to adjust the pitch. If you want the heli to be more stable, shift the initial pitch to +1 or +2 degree. Do so will give you a slower head speed when the heli is ready to take off.
To use v2, you need to push dip switch #2 off to make the adjustment.
