The 3Racing parts are typically better than the Yeah Racing parts.. 3Racing makes most of their parts from billet aluminum (stronger) whereas Yeah Racing will make many of their parts from cast aluminum (weaker). The original Tamiya parts are the most expensive, but they are they best quality of the bunch..

In the case of the suspension mounts, the 3Racing parts are equally good to the Tamiya parts.. I would go with the 3Racing parts if you want to save a little cash.

Hope this helps.

Dan
Ok, Thanks. I think I'll go for the 3Racing parts then.

Hi all!

II'm looking for a 1/10th Buggy and so I saw the Durga some days ago. Can you recommend it?
Are there any problems with the belts (I've never had a car with belts)?
I've heard that there are problems with the screws but I'd change soon.

Greets,
Eric

The belts will be fine as long as you build the car right. The screw tend to strip easy. I have noticed a couple of non tamiya screw sets you can look at them. I have had the car for a year and a half and the only thing that has broken so far is the front shock tower. Thats because I ran it full speed into a dumpster.

There is nothing wrong with the screws supplied with the kit. It has been mentioned before and I will mention it again. If you pretap the holes you will have no problems and it makes it very smooth for maintenance or repairs. I will admit that upgraded screws can be nice for the allen head and weight saving but I would still pre tap the holes anyhow. When you do this it will allow you to take the car apart and reassemble it without losing the tightness that often happens with R/C after many rebuilds. It will make things much smoother and tighter without stripping the plastic parts. I have built 4 of these kits now and I have had no problems with the supplied screws.

I have noticed that the plastic in the newer kits is much softer than the first DB-01 chassis that I built. I think that Tamiya has used a softer material because of this problem.

I will agree with the difference in the kits softer material, Ive built other kits for a few friends and the kit screws were alot easier to use than when I built mine.
I tried one screw and it was nearly impossible and I didnt feel like wasting time to ream out all those holes but I had purchased Tamiyas optional hex screw kit when I bought the Durga so I was going to use them anyway, they were not as hard to install and hex screws dont slip like philips screws

Thank you for the answers!

Sounds good.

Are there any differences between the Durga and the Baldre except the body?

Not at all - that's the only difference.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

As you've probably already read here, going to hex head screws isn't a bad idea (or at least pre-tap all chassis screw holes w/a hex head). Also, buying the Tamiya slipper is a nice idea to keep stress off of the drivetrain. Idid those 2 things, added an eBay (bigger) front bumper, and bash like mad on it. Love it.

I run a center one-way since I race off-road (dirt). The front one-way is great if you are racing on high traction surfaces like carpet or tarmac. Once you get used to them, they are great.. You might want to disable the drag brake on your ESC to take full advantage of them once you get used to racing the DB-01.

I usually buy my parts from RCmart, Stella and Tower but with the first two, the shipping is what gets you

I've been forced to order parts from Stella and RC Mart and they are fine. No problems with either of them.  The lhs here is mostly nitro with no tamiya stock. pretty sad. I  wish that Tamiya was supported locally here in NYC. sometimes I just need one small part and don't want to deal with ordering from overseas.

I've been really impressed with the Durga. I've had the buggy for over a year now and wish i'd run it more than i do, but whenever I run it it always performs.

Well, we've ordered a couple of things from RC-Mart and everything has been ok.

Nice forum, like it.

The Center One Way is an alternate option to the Front One Way.. It replaces one of the pulleys on the layshaft that drives the front belt.. This allows you the benefits of a one-way bearing without having to give up the front differential.

Using a Center One Way for lower grip or bumpy off-road tracks is a much better choice than the Front One-Way. The opposite rule applies for high traction smooth carpet or tarmac tracks where the Front One-Way is the better choice.

Here is a link I found that covers one-way control in more detail (it also talks about break control etc). This should help explain it a little better: http://www.geocities.com/agusyt/OneWays.doc

Hope this helps.

Hello Dan!

Have you managed to find out the info regarding my gearing? I tried with gear charts etc. but i am not sure.
Yesterday i bashed for 20 minutes non-stop in short grass and dirt environments without problems.
Later in the afternoon i trained at the dirt track in Loutraki. Did 10 rounds again without problems!
The dirt track testing was exceptionally good, and that was a surpise! These tires had slightly better
grip than the stock ones. Specificaly, when accelerating while leaving a turn into a large straight the response
was rapid and the car straightened very fast.
Can't say the same about my shocks that now seem to be inadequate.

Regards,
Stef

What is the difference between the "normale"slipper and the double-slipper? Which slipper do you use?

(I've never had a slipper in any of my cars... )...

tried the front 1 way on my durga seems that it dosent fit me at all
the way it handles and turning was great but seems the front 1 way makes my buggy lose lots of traction
compared to the normal diffs is this how its suppose to work??
