RE: QUICK WHICH ENGINE AND WHY for my SAVAGE!!!
Axial engines are pretty damn sweet IMO... I have the .32, I bought iit for a buggy I ended up selling, but loved the motor so much I decided to keep it for a future project. as it turns out I traded a XXX-NT for a Savage X, and am seriously thinking the Axial is going into that truck.
Anyways, the break in on the axial was one of the smoothest I have ever experienced, and the power is pretty phenominal. for the price the Axial is a damn good Mill...

You have the 3-shoe or 2-shoe flywheel? If 2-shoe, get the 3-shoe and refer to the second page of the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8837722/mpage_2/tm.htm]"just bought an axial .28"[/link] thread.

Ya, I know for a fact the later ones had 3-shoe clutches, but the original ones did not...and I found the thread, the link is above.

I'm not sure on the differences between the spin-start and the roto-start...If the spin-start uses the same dog-bone style shaft you should be fine with using the roto-start. Otherwise, you will have to buy the spin-start shaft, but you can still use it with your roto-starter...

Spin start uses a "Hexagon" head to turn the engine, Sort of like an allan-key.
And a Roto start uses the round head with the pins to turn the engine.

You'll need [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/5974/n/Team-Losi-Spin-Start-Starter-Shaft]this[/link] to be able to use your roto-start, and yes, you should be able to use your stock exhaust manifold and pipe; Although, if I were you, I'd get a new pipe as well.

RE: QUICK WHICH ENGINE AND WHY for my SAVAGE!!!
Thanks Joker your very helpfull, yeah i have a tuned pipe already from when my motor worked. but since im going to buy that roto start thing in the link you gave me, im looking around that website to see if there is anything else i need for this since im getting things shipped. i have [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFXU7&P=ML]these[/link] shoe's stock on my savage and they seem to be good still so i dont think i need new clutch shoe's, but if there is anything else i should get, i think i should upgrade my brakes, and i read there is a steering upgrade i can do too, any ideas? Thanks!

RE: QUICK WHICH ENGINE AND WHY for my SAVAGE!!!
Not necessarily, if you still rockin' the stock clutch bell/plastic spur combo, you should probably look into the HPI vented racing clutch bell so you don't melt your spur though...Oh, actually, what gear ratios are you running? Since you're moving up to the .28 you should probably move to something around 47/18.
