I don't know what your problems with each other are, and frankly don't care either. Take it somewhere else. If you're bored, watch TV. Having to spend an hour of my time cleaning up your mess put me in a foul mood last night, so I didn't make the usual notifications of deletion then.

There was no excuse for the way that thread went last night, and it won't be tolerated in the future. Consider yourselves on secret probation now, and transgressions like the one we had last night will probably have the offending member put on Moderated Status (MS). While on MS, no one will be able to see your posts until they are approved by a moderator. Let's not go there, OK?

Rob

its scary when you get one of these messages in you inbox after breaking every rule on the fourms haha. i think ChrisRC remembers this hahahaa

Not really. Then you have a guy going. BUMP! BUMP! BUMP! BUMP! Every time his thread doesnt receive a hit within 5 mins.
Its not like that when you work, school, work, and have things to do. It's actually very effective on RCTech and other sites.

Ya I remember that. You haven't see Always Dreamin in a while, and Dawman doesn't run his cars anymore. What the problem was is Dawman said he would prefer the E-maxx over the E-Revo for bashing, then A.D. flipped out and wrote muliple paragraph long posts on why the E Revo is better. Seemed like A.D. thought that everyone had to like the E-Revo better than the E-Maxx. Then me and emaXXman started posting a bunch of stupid smilies like........

Brian, why haven't you been on here lately? You were also put on Moderator Status when you replied in that thread.

Well, I would have put my 2c in, but I can see that the majority are in support of what we do here. I do want to say though, that we don't (or at least I don't, and I think I speak for all the car mods) remove anything just because we disagree with it. In fact, I find it frustrating sometimes that I can't let rip at someone because I'm a moderator. Only when the rules are broken, or it's a subject that has stirred controversy in the past, will something be locked or removed. We always try to clean up rather than close, but some subjects just can't be discussed in a civil way because of strenght of views, which is understandable. Those topics obviously become taboo, such as MJ.

While I agree with this site being one of the best forums due to the moderators and what they do I sometimes feel that they go overboard.
Now I know that they have to answer to someone who has to answer to someone who.... etc.

Sometimes though it seems that threads get locked just beceuse people disagree with eachother.
Fair enough the MJ threads are going nowhere but surely we should be allowed to disagree on things without threads being locked?

I wonder how long this thread will last.....

I think if you take a look at each situation objectively, our actions are understandable. Also, sometimes, there are thinkgs going on in the background that members are not aware of that affects how we deal with certain situations. For example, you may see that we lock something due to an argument, which looks like a regular disagreement. Maybe though, one of them is another member with a second ccount, jjust stirring, or maybe they are competing commercial outfits which are just using our forums to dig at each others, etc.

one of them is another member with a second ccount,
Yeah that happens from time to time - people set up two accounts and argue/agree with themselves.
How sad and lonely some people must be.
The internet is a strange phenomenon.
All of a sudden everyone's an expert on everything.

I love cruising around YouTube every now and again and read the video comments.
It's amazing how many people seem to spend a dedicated amount of time every day to just type "fake" or "epic fail" as a comment on videos, and move on to the next one.

It's human nature tough to abuse everything and sometimes I think that the world might have been a better place today if the internet hadn't been invented.
Yeah yeah I know it's awesome and everything is at your fingertips and here I am on the net talking about it etc, but it has taken away the need to actually having to put effort in to finding information.
It's also a great source for misinformation and spreading rumours.

Here in Australia one of the morning shows on TV dedicate a timeslot to show the funniest YouTube videos of the day.
Pretty sad really.

I also think that the younger generations are losing the ability to actually create things and solve problems, as less time is actually spent doing hands-on stuff.
If it doesn't have a USB port it's not interesting.
Sure there are lots of people doing it, but just looking at kids walking home from school and almost all of them are walking around looking at their phones.
I'm glad I was born when I was and have witnessed the computers evolution from green monochrome screens and DOS.
I've always loved gaming and it's cool to have been there since the days of PacMan and Donkey Kong.

That's my rant for now.

instead of the the rating system , that spot should be used to display the age of the poster .

and the problem with the mods is that they are tired of cleaning up little kids "accidents" in the diaper that is the Car forums .

That'd be a problem because age is a privacy issue. It's up to the account owner to post that information publicly. If it was in the User's Agreement thing it'd be fine, and I don't think many would really notice or care.

But there are people who have problems with the smallest things.

I don't like that, because then people like Chris RC, or me, would be ignored because we are young, even if we are knowledgeable...
