Gary,

Glad to see that you can make this event. So far it looks like it's going to be a pretty good turn out just with the Rascal 110's alone. There should be a host of other planes coming as well. It will be here before you know it.

The Rascal 110 Fly-in is less than 6 weeks away and that's not very long. I hope everyone has this event locked in on their calendar and is ready forsome fun flying, good eating, and all the lies you can tell . We are still under way at getting things together as far as banners, PA system, and most importantly, volunteers. I far one can not wait for this day to get here.

The engine is back. The grank was danaged and the main bearing spun. Ralph replaced it and sent me a new RCIgnition unit for it. Now I can get rid of the power hungry Zenoah ignition. See you guys in Evansville.

Looking forward to seeing you all here in Evansville. I flew Dave's Rascal today and those planes are awesome. Id like to see a dozen of them low pass the runway in knife edge. Maybe Dave will let me fly it again during the event. See you there.

Bill,

I flew Dave's Rascal 110 this morning as well. Flys just like mine. Mine looks better because it's blue and white The event is only 4 weeks away guys so eveyone tweak their Rascal's and get them ready. I think a video of a bunch of us flying down the runway woud be cool.

Our own Doctor GaryUnderhill has had a Sig Rascal 110 ever since theycame outand has never assembled it. Docnow hashis Rascal 110 on the work bench and he has a big two stroke for it. He was waiting for the right timeand event to come along and this was it. He says he will have it readyfor the Rascal 110 Fly-in. Way to go Doc.

We tried our best to get a Rascal 110 to raffle off for this event but there were none to be had. Sig said they won't be available until after the event is over. There was one for sale for a good price in the classifieds but the guy simple would not ship it. So, we did the next best thing and got a new Rascal 40 to raffle off. It would have been nice to have a 110 for the raffle.

Not to worry Zippi. The 40 will be a great option. Iam back from vacation having traveled 5000 miles, visited 5 musems, Sanata Cruz Boardwalk, Yosimite and the Grand canyon. It is good to be home and tomorrow I will install the rebuilt G26ei in the Rascal. I don't think Iwill have the AMR 50 Trainer ready but the Rascal will be set.

The engine runs great and the bird flies just as good. With almost dead clam wind conditions and a thep of 98 degrees and 50% humidity the Rascal landed with gentle grace with full flaps and the throttle at idle. You guys will love her.

alright,
just got back from the flying field. went out there to test out the back up Rascal 110 (red/white version) with a Saito 1.80 on it. have not had time to adjust the perry pump for the extra fuel delivery she might need, so i bypassed it altogether. all went well with the big 4 stroke up front........plenty of power so far, and the flat turns on the deck are alot tighter and more predictable. the knife edges are a little faster than i like for a Rascal. i like the extreme nose up, slow ones, if you catch my drift. hopefully i will get the pump adjusted this weekend, and have her ready for the trip to Evansville in a couple of weeks.

kingarthur, glad to see you got your powerplant back and all is well. cant wait to see the flaps on the Rascal slow the bird down even slower than they already fly!!

See you all soon
Eric

Zippi
i put the black Rascal on the back burner for now, it is going to have a YS 120FZ on it. i picked up a used red/white version a month or so ago, and put the Saito 180 on it. i like the big 4 stroke power on it, it does some cool stuff. i need to get the pump working and find a different prop.

so far, there should be 6-8 of us coming from BG.

i will be bringing 2, Charlie should have his 2, John and his nephew will have theirs, Gary will have his with him, and i am working on the others in the club. i have not spoken with the guys from Nashville and Murfreesboro in a few weeks

see you all in a few weeks

Guys I am sorry to say that due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be able to attend. I am indeed disappointed. I have been talking to Zippi about this event long before it was scheduled and was committed to attending. Cancelling my motel reservations and posting this is difficult but I have no choice. Zippi, my appoligizies for not being able to be there. I know it will be a great event. I look forward to seeing pics and videos of the activities. Eric keep in touch. Maybe I can come to your home field and do a slow fly for you. Here are some pics of the Land O'Frost Rascal.

Ron,

No need to appoligizies dude. Wish you could have made it but any time you feel like heading this way you are more than welcome at our field. I will indeed have plenty of pics and probably a video. Nice pics or your Rascal. I like the " Land O'Frost". If everything goes well with this event I'm sure we'll hold another one next year. Catch you on the flip side.

The Rascal 110 Fly-in started out very windy and there was no stopping the rain from coming in. It was the worst morning We had seen in a while and it looked like it was all over for the Rascal Fly-in. Hardly no one had showed up due to the bad weather. Thanks to the boys from Bowling Green KY. we had someone to keep us company on what looked like a non flying event. The early afternoon brought a little sunshine and the wind finally slowed down to about 5-10 mph and all but one of the 8 Rascal's present made it in the air and we had a good late afternoon of flying. Here are a few pic's from the event.

Nice event Zippi. Can't beat mother nature. Wish I could have been there. I ended going to the Sizzlin in the Rock Fun Fly about 30 minutes down the road. It was bright sunshine and so humid you could cut it with a knife. It topped out near 100 degrees around 2pm and we packed it in. The Rascal was well represented. It was a great day.

Ron,

The day was not a total bust and we got a lot of flying in late in the afternoon. Looks like you had a pretty good day as well except for the heat. Pics look great. Here is a video I shot of Eric A. flying his Rascal 110 with Saito 1.80.

ERCMAC members,

thanks for a great ending of a day that started out as a wash. John, Charlie, Gary, my son Travis, and i had a great afternoon of flying. the food was great as usual and the hospitality you guys showed us was awesome. thanks again for another "Great Evansville Event"!!!
i will definately be there for the fall giant scale fly-in, and i will try to drag some of the other local club members that way.

SKYMAC's giant scale fly-in is a couple of weeks away, so anyone that did not get to make to the Rascal fly-in is more than welcome to bring them to Bowling Green that weekend and have a good time. dates and directions to the SKYMAC field can be found at www.skymacrc.com

again, thanks for holding this event and maybe next year, Mother Nature will not get involved.

king, i went out and practiced straight and level flight with my Rascal today, and she just wont do it unless there is another Rascal in the air with mine. to be honest with you, i think the fuse is crooked or something like that.

Eric
