RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27
I had mine out yesterday in some pretty good waves and let me tell you guys this thing is awesome.
As long as you don't mind getting wet cause of flipping it is amazing to see this little boat fly around.
At one point the boat stuck down into the water like a sub and came back out backwards nailed the throttle and kept going another time it went under and stayed that way for about 8 to 10 feet popped back out and kept going.
It was just crazy.
I am running the 2 blade 40/53 prop.
Also what balancer do you guys use for props???

Yep, it's pretty crazy the forces involved to drive a 27" hull deep underwater. When my nitro submarines in to the water it pops up again dead. Apparently engines don't breathe water. Just another bonus of running electric.
I use a Top-Flite Magnetic Balancer. It's strong enough to balance my 70+mm Stainless Steel gasser props and sensitive enough to balance my 32mm props as well.

I have been running my supervee with a CF 51mm prop off my villain and it is great. I can only run for about 5 min before i stop to let it cool. I think i should drop back down to a 48 or 45. Temps after 5 min are
Battery 125
Motor 145
ESC 130
I am running the ener-g packs and they are great. I want to try some of these some time soon.

I got a new case for all my battery's and charging stuff. It helps a lot to be able to carry the box and have it all together. Lowes has them as well as harbor fraight. I also got an new imax b6 off of ebay for like $32 shipped with a temp sensor.

when the boat hops out of the water and generally just doesnt stay flat at high speed , is that just in need of more trim tab being bent downwards? Mine is fine till about 3/4 throttle then it starts kinda skipping and get a little crazy.

I was going to start taping mine but that is kinda a pain.
Hoping that the silicone will slow the water enough to keep it to a minimum.
What about the radio box you do anything there?

TApe the hatch with colored electic tape (lowes) you can re-use it (I just leave it on the side of the boat then re-use it, good for 10 runs or more). I also put the reciever in a baloon, a little silicone grease on the raidio hatch as well.

I still run a FM radio so I still have the antenna to contend with.
I am going to try the seal thing if that does not work I will start to tape it.
I think I am going to change the boats color anyways to White.
I like that better then yelow.
Or Maybe flames on the bow and white for the rest of the boat.
NOt sure yet
OH well its still fun

I'd move the antenna, still running the AM ! raido with no issues. I made a brackett on the back and just a small hole and a bit of silicone. I love to customise, airbrushed the front as well, a few guys have done nice flames if you have a few hours to read back threw the pages.
Good luck,
S

anyone try sharpening the turn fins and rudder to a knife edge? I figure it would cut through the water better?

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27
Mine are both sharp
I think I will re locate the antenna also
I just finished the seal around the lid to slow the water down a bit.
Have to wait a few more hours before the set is complete then out to test it.
Waiting on motors for the retrieval boat (Villian EX they died after 500 runs)

I just ordered the kintech trim tabs today. Does the water pick up really make a big cooling difference I hate the fact that if you make left turns it gets hot lol. But just looking for more flow in general

Just be careful and drill a very small hole, pull the wire threw and seal with silicone. Biggest issue here was the antenna is now a bit shorter (does not go all the way up the tube) So far the reception is fine.

OOps read this again, now I know what you mean. I just used a small piece of the colored electical tape to cover the antenna and hatch holes.

I won't have to drill the hull as I'm using a 3PK Radio with 2,4GHz module. The receiver antenna is only about 3in long...
