Default Identify the engine in this model tractor?

Hello. I was hoping someone could help me out and identify or at least give some idead on the type of engine in this model tractor in this video. It certainly runs/revs very slow and the sound is very realistic as compared with the full-size article so it isn't the typical gasoline or glow fuel powered 2 stroke nor a 4 stroke model engine. Nor is it steam powered obviously. I'm thinking it must be a model hit 'n miss engine. Any ideas or even better links to similar models with slow revving engines. What do you guys think?

Oh one more thing. If you listen to hit 'n miss engines their sound is more how do I say 'ragged' and uneven than this tractor simply because of the hit 'n miss principle of operation but this engine is more rhythmic and even in operation.

The engine on the model is no hit&miss, those engines are very distinct, even when powering machines:

I'd say it's a simple open crankcase 2-stroke, like a Loyal cycle engine:

Thanks for the post, I just love antique and antique-type engines and machines[8D]

Ratxipt, yup I know that tractor didn't sound exactly like a hit 'n miss engine but it also doesn't quite sound like the engine in the last You Tube video you gave a link to. The open crankcase Loyal that you posted a link to doesn't exactly sound like the tractor engine either but it's getting much closer than my guess at a hit 'n miss engine.

What I'm most astonished at is the low idle/running speed of the engine in that model tractor.

By the way, this video link didn't want to work for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwH5_jKTKd

I love antique engines too!

Any one else out there who can help us?

Plus that tractor I would guess is maybe 6-8" high so that would make the engine in that tractor about 4-5" in height. And the smaller the engine the harder it is to get a low idle/running speed. Mind you that tractor does look like it has a fairly heavy brass flywheel. Still I wonder...

Yes, that might be it. The engine sound in your corrected link sounds pretty darn close to the sound of the tractor.

meowy84 The motor was not converted from anything but rather the entire model is a hand made John Deere made by an artist by the name of Jerry Kieffer from Wisconsin. A buddy of mine hangs out with him and says the tractor is magnificent. Do a search, he has a web site. Check it out his work is amazing.
